They've re-united for a short time on the debut album of Jaco Pastorius! The song was Come On, Come Over. Great tune!

We used to do a fairly credible version of S&D's "Broke Down Piece Of Man". Lots of changes and hard as hell to sing (try it sometime!).

I love Sam and Dave, love all that old soul style music. My favorite has always been Otis Redding but they were fabulous too as was Wilson Pickett. How I wish I would have ever seen one of those acts live!

Lose your dreams and you will lose your mind...

Yeah, these guys (and lots of other Stax/Muscle Shoals/Atlantic stuff) are great.

From my part of the world too (Ashburn and Ocilla, Georgia, USA).

....Here ya gave Dave ... THANKS mate for bringin' a tip of ya hat ta Sam & Dave

After hearing cats like Bob Dylan and Peter Gabriel say that seeing Otis was their best and most memorable concert-going experience, I can't imagine what Sam & Dave were like.

Whew.

Thanks for sharing.

And to think that for 13 of their almost 21 year career, they didn't talk to each other.
