I'm partial to Gimme Shelter, however I think the drums are understated. After that amazing intro, I kind of expect a more explosive drum beat, but it's still pretty impressive.

I also enjoy the drum beats on Miss You, especially the 12" mix.

according to timeisonourside.com, that's Charlie on Sway, and Charlie and Jimmy on Tumbling Dice.
and speaking of Jimmy Miller: what he did on YCAGWYW rivets me. that cymbal sounds like a refugee from a lunatic asylum staggering around all damaged, and then that incredible release when it alllllllll falls into place - that is @#$%& powerful.

"What do you want - what?!"

My favoites are Studio Midnight Rambler with all the tempo changes, soft at times and smashing at times.

Monkey Man is a great drum track, great fills...power drumming

I love the way "Cloud" starts and his drumming all the way thru.

Tumbling Dice just has great drumming, solid, strong, with fills that almost sound as if they are about to trip over each other

Don't forget Flip the Switch, Ol' Charlie rips thru that one.

Honorable mention....Moon is up....never heard plastic garbage pails played so well inside a stairwell and recorded four flights up.

Charlie really is a great drummer but most of the time what he does is so subtle it does not get noticed. Playing off of Keith, with his unique sense of time within a song has kept Charlie sharp ( and it used to keep Keith on alert for a Charlie surprise) and also provided that Stones groove of "The song may fall apart at any second". No band really has the ability to play so tight, yet sound so loose...when they want. Charlie is just great.

Milo, NYC
The drummer thinks that he is dynamite

I agree BB!

The best part of the drums in She's so Cold is the pshhhhhhh of the cymbal at the beginning - excellent!

Regards,

Ian.
