Sister Morphine got hold of eleven hours of those rehearsals from a Stones crew member, I guess Chuck recorded a bunch of them...the Stones lawyers prevented any more than the first one being released.

What did the "Stones lawyers" actually say to the SM label - "one is ok, but no more, please, or else we'll bit yer head off!"???? Sorry, but as the Stones lawyers were actually so successful to stop the Stones bootleg flood, one has to scratch ones head and ask what they did in that particular case to stop SM from releasing more rehearsals.

Since Sister Morphine is long gone the question comes up if the tapes are circulating elsewhere?

Hadn't listened to this one for a long time. I really like the version of 19th Nervous Breakdown - just noticed Mick changed the words from "On our first trip..." to "When we first met..."

I always found it strange the artwork of this bootleg states "VOL 1". It hits on a second Volume. Hope it will be released someday.

Maybe a Japanese label will "liberate" the tapes...?
I don't see the owner/holder releasing them for free.

And who knows what's on the recordings : CYHMK, Sway, Parachute Woman, Let it Loose, Flight 505, Gomper? grinning smiley

Don't underestimate the amount of tapes that exist but are not circulated. Some people can hold their stuff for decades...

Yeah the SM releases got rave reviews... I ordered one (I'm in Europe) and I resold it immediately >grinning smiley< It was the Oakland'97 "superb" aud tape.

More or less all that advertised in the mag got their good reviews. But I still liked it very much.Don't know what happened to Carr.Had some mail contact with him. Think he had some personal problems in the end.
I wonder whether anyone here wrote for it?!

Mathijs once wrote a short letter describing the circumstances of the taping of the 2nd Paradiso show but apart from that...
