The patience and restraint in each performance is very sexy and exudes confidence.

Quoted for truth.
They have such control. It's stunning. I'd add JJF to the list of songs that exude that controlled confidence.

And you could give Jagger only a few square feet of stage and he'd still command the entire damn arena. I LOVE LOVE LOVE 1972, but he was at his best as a front man in 1969.

agreed.
I love the fact that Jagger was still showing his blues "roots" in 1969.
His dance moves & voice are fantastic.
It was also the Tour which gave the audiences Midnight Rambler which must have been amazing for the audience back then.

By 1972 it was more a professional outfit with Jagger jumping around like a clown and screetching out his vocals.

Thankyou so much for posting this 71Tele. Man how I loved the Ya Ya's album while growing up in the late 60's to mid 70's. This was the Rolling Stones at their best and the two Berry song's were the best of the best. Listened to this a thousand times and still never can get too much. What a band and what an era and I'm just gratefull we had the music we did. Pee Daddy? WTF?

Ya Ya's, my live album, and the Rolling Stones at their best. All tracks.

Especially Love in vain, a diamond. Fantastic Taylor, Mick and Keith job.

Pure grace.

Keith? Let's not forget Bill's beautiful bass, apart from ONE bum note. Come to think of it, that one's beautiful, too smiling smiley

It may suit Jagger today to sing and dance more like he did in 69.

He did less running around but imo was much cooler in 69!

No one was cooler then the Stones in 69...The Greatest Rock and roll band in the world!

I've played that arrangement of Queenie in bands many times but no drummer has ever been able to get Charlie's off beat intro right. Much prefer this over any other version they did, including Leeds.

People argue about the Stones best period. Studio albums have been brilliant in different ways with different guitar players in different era's, valid opinions vary. But there is no doubt in my mind 69 stands high above other live tours.
