Love to have this, one of my all-time favorite RS photo sessions. But this book is just TOO expensive. Really!eye rolling smiley

I'd love to have it, too. To me, SF and these photos represent the Stones at the absolute peak of their musical and visual cool, but, again, too expensive. How does this thing work, anyway? You pay upfront, but if they don't get 100 people to buy it, they don't manufacture the book? Do you get your money back?

I assume you do. The trick is if they get 100 checks in the mail the load of money generated by the pre-sales pays for the scans and the book printing.

As a result, the gallery gets a luxurious book done without spending a penny on it. An ideal business scheme! thumbs up

I sincerely hope they make it but it's far too expensive. Genesis Pub could get away with this kind of prices years ago but now in the toilet economy we live in...

Anyway look at their Tumblr they seem genuinely dedicated to make great books!

Yeah, whoever thought of this whole "kickstarter" thing is a frickin' genius. It really taps into the fans' desire to feel like they're a part of the process, and their willingness to pay big money to have that experience.

Check the "customer distribution" for the Brooce book they did in 2012 :
[ormondyardpress.tumblr.com]

2% for Asia? I guess it'll be quite different with the Stones project.

Mick and Keith look really like that Allen Klein had robbed them, and they were in a serious need of money to buy some decent clothes... Hey, you fashion experts from 1971 - was that really fashionable then?tongue sticking out smiley

Yes, but at the time that was the start of being the old ones in pop business. The group that survived the sixties ..

In 1971, if Mick or Keith was wearing it, it was fashionable by definition! grinning smiley

But yeah. Especially those long lapels.

I wonder if they'd been found in a closet behind the drywall, if they'd be worth more (or less)?

That's 'news' from July 2011, I think.

Pretty hard to top the shot used on the inner sleeve and for some reason I'm not sure I want to see too many shots of that session. Like flying over your favorite patch of forest and realizing how small it really is, I'm scared it will take away some of the magic I've come to associate with those images.

395 British pounds. Plus shipping & handling. Yeah, um, I'm gonna have to pass.

I hope you enjoy it, woody. Post a photo or two if you can. Looks very nice.
