RollingFreakI'll have to listen! My first thought is "how good could it have been if I never even heard of it!" but I'll chalk that up to there just being so much out there that I guess its easy to pass one by these days. What were some good songs on it?Quote

It would be great to hear Pete really give his 100% on a slightly modern day Who album. I don't really need it, but it'd be cool to hear he and Roger do some magic once again. I always thought Endless Wire was lacking.
The did all that on the last album "Who".
I'll take a listen! I actually now do think I remember it cause I remember that "best" quote and was like "@#$%& off" lol. Good that he likes it, but thats almost more of a turn off to me. I'm glad and hope its good, but you said "best album we ever did" and its like "it just ISN'T gonna be better than Who's Next, so at least do that caveat." But I digress, I'll take a listen. I totally understand his quote, its the same as what Stevie Nicks says, these artists put their hard work into these albums, obviously trying to be as good as a Rumours, and if no one's gonna listen thats gotta be hard. Like its their fault they have previous hits. I'm still the guy that liked A Bigger Bang and would love to hear Let Me Down Slow live lol.Quote

Roger said it was the best album they ever did. I think its the best album of the post Moon era. Even better than Who Are You.
Roger also made a comment to the face of "what's the point of making one of our best albums when no one listens to it. Give a couple listens to it RollingFreak. I think you will like it. Much much better than Endless Wire.

Does anyone know who will be performing as The Who at the RAH in March?
Eg who will be the drummer if Zak still out of action?
And rumoured special guests ?

I was listening to it again recently. It's a really solid album. It's disappointing more of it wasn't played live on the tour to support the album.

Since when was Zak out of action? He missed 2013 but has been back ever since as far as I know.

It's hilarious that people's tastes are so different. I rate "Endless Wire" very highly and I think it's miles better than "Who". The songs are better, more interesting and complex and the classic Who anger is very much there, summat that is lacking on "Who". The songs on "Who" sounds like the songs I wrote when I was 15 years old and in my first band. Endless Wire got songs almost as good as some on Who Are You and Who By Numbers IMHO.

Just listened to Endless Wire. Sure, some of the songs were ok but overall it didn't feel at all impressive. I'll try listening to WHO this afternoon and see if its any better.
Again, don't mean to be overly critical of it, but I can't in any way compare it to Who By Numbers or earlier. Who Are You is an incredible song, but the rest of the album suck. And this felt like more of the same.

WHO has a few bright spots but is overall kind of a weak album, imo. I have no idea why they picked Ball and Chain and Hero Ground Zero to play live, I think both are pretty forgettable. All This Music Must Fade, I Don’t Wanna Get Wise, and Street Song are pretty good, though. The first two in particular are good examples of what the core Who band sounded like live in the post-Entwistle era, and I like that. Even if I prefer EW as a set of songs, it’s not a very “band” album, and there are a few tracks on WHO where that does come through.

Once again being a Friend Of The Royal Albert Hall really paid off!
I think it is about £100 per year - I joined in time for the TCT gigs last year and my 12 months runs out today so great timing
Friends get their own allocation of tickets for every gig at the RAH
For 15 minutes this morning the RAK website was telling me that there were no tickets avilable at any price but then about 0920 I was offered two seats in. Area A, row 8 for the Thursday so a great result
I just checked and they still have Arena C available via RAH Friends for the Thursday - you can book up to 1300 GMT today
Hope that helps
(Who are we going to be seeing in March ? Will Zak be fit in time?)

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I'm not super negative on aging bands making records. I still really like A Bigger Bang. But these albums were very forgettable to me and I don't really see a reason to revisit them. To me, with the exception of the song Who Are You, nothing after Who By Numbers even comes remotely close to what made this band great. Who Are You, Its Hard, Face Dances, Endless Wire and Who are completely unnecessary to their discography but glad others find value in them. I still maintain I'd love to hear one more really great effort from Pete and Roger but I'd never really hold out hope for that, mainly because it was mostly always Pete's vision that he then brought to the band. So unless he had another true creative burst it seems DOA.

I am a Friend of the RAH, so I was logically thinking that the RAH would grant us somewhat earlier access to tickets as compared to the general public, but this wasn't the case on this occasion. Heaven knows why, because earlier access is how the RAH promotes the advantages of such membership. But anyway, I also had other windows open to see what Ticketmaster and SeeTickets had to offer. Much to my amazement, whilst the RAH website still had me in the waiting room with an estimated wait time of 40 minutes, SeeTickets came up with a 6th row Arena seat in section F. Out of interest, I did somewhat later in the morning look at what the RAH site had to offer, but it was only stuff much further back in the arena, or in blocks J & K in the stalls ...

I think there was a glitch on the RAH Friends bit of their website
For the first 10-15 minutes it told me there were no tickets available at any price and the suddenly there were Arena A and F tickets coming up.
Sill all's well that ends well! Just a bit of unnecessary jeopardy - glad we both got good seats
