I was there. It was outside somewhere near Ein Gedi, can't remember the exact spot. And all I can recall from the concert is Love In Vain.

If it was near Ein Gedi maybe the location should
be "Masada National Park" ???

No, it wasn't Masada. It was probably Kalia. I remember we were sitting on grass.

so I was NOT there, but I remember the event from the papers at the time:
1. It was at Ein Bokek which is kind of near the hotel strip near Dead Sea.
2. On the same bill was Margolit Tsanani - who is a local Yemenite middle eastern singer. She was trying to re-invent herself as a sort of Aretha....
3. Mick T played again in the nineties at a Blues Festival in Haifa, together with Snowy White..

Israeli radio broadcast so either Pre-FM or FM

trade>CDR>EAC>TLH level 7 FLAC>you

01 Laundromat Blues
02 Leather Jacket

I really like Blondie. I think Mick and Blondie could
put together a nice touring band. I actually perfer
Mick when he has a sidekick to play off of.

Mick get's pissed at the soundman just before 'You Gotta Move'

Jerusalem Post, 30.03.1990

The festivals have gone all out to capture the public's imagination. The Dead Sea's International Blues and Soul Festival allows you to "listen to music at the lowest point in the world." Two marathon performances from 7:30 p.m. till dawn at Park HaTmarim by Ein Bokek, offer a mix of Israeli and foreign talent. Veteran American blues singer Jimmy Witherspoon and former Rolling Stone Mick Taylor, and establishment pop singers like Gary Eckstein and Shlomo Mizrahi will be joined by oriental pop music singer Margalit Tzan'ani, whose ballsy, throaty style makes her probably the closest thing that Israel has to a soul singer.
For a good cross-section of Israeli pop music, the Woodsrock festival in Eilat draws together major names and new talent for a three-day rock music spree. Oriental pop is also making inroads here. Singers like Tzan'ani, Shimi Tavori and Avihu Medina will be performing daily. This indicates that their music, which has been characterized as "bus station music," is finally being given recognition by the Israeli pop music establishment. For several years, oriental pop-music releases have been selling in the tens of thousands, while Israeli pop music releases that sell only 20,000 go gold.
ALTHOUGH TWO choir festivals at the same time may seem like too much, the organizers of "Pessah in Tel Aviv" aren't worried. This festival, which is funded by the Tel Aviv municipality and has been running annually for about seven years, is gathering together mainly Israeli vocal ensembles for three days of almost continuous performances in Tel Aviv's Neve Zedek neighbourhood.
