Sounds great. Short and sweet. But the full studio recording of the track is on youtube with a different singer and is excellent too.

So the interview at the beginning, is that about Mathijs (reluctantly?) standing in for someone. And is he Jagger-ish enough?!!! (Well that's what I heard but I don't speak Dutch) smiling smiley

Great band!
In january I spoke with singer Matthijs and (briliant) guitarplayer Robin Berlijn...

Is Matthijs an IORR-member?
If yes... then Matthijs... sorry, I was the drunk guy in Kroeg van Klaas :-)

This is pretty good... reminds me of a few bands.

Although some people I spoke to and saw him on DWDD said that he should do his thing and not try to imitate MJ....which he clearly did
Sounds good though imo

Assume this band chose its name after Eric Burdon and The Animals song?

video: [www.youtube.com]

The members on the board are doing pretty well :-)
I was on the same show this weekend as shown in the second video of Mathijs with my Stones influenced single Tired of giving good things up (monoPunk remix).

I even got to talk about my lucky dip for the Paris show (not in this video by the way).

The Freaknight host on 3FM Sander Hoogendoorn is a huge Stones fan, which makes it a little easier I guess for guys like me to get a spot on the show.

With his gig on DWDD Mathijs did way better than me by the way. That's the number one TV show in the Netherlands. But I'm really proud of getting to play on Freaknacht.

@Mathijs, what kind of effect(s) do you use on your vocal? And are you able to control it yourself during the gig, or is it completely in the hands of the technician?

...Fatal Flower Robin Berlijn?! Wow - that's a blast from the past.
brilliant indeed, that man.
So he's currently playing with these Sky Pilots, right?
(Can't check the video again right now, since I'm at the office.)

Pretty good. I don't think this is "our" Mathijs on vocals, he's a guitar player not a singer, right?

"Our Mathijs" was the guitar player of Rolling Stones cover band "Flip the Switch" where the other Mathijs was the singer

Ah ok, then it's a bit useless of me to ask him what effect he uses on is vocals spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

And I keep forgetting how you post a visible YouTube link in a post. Could someone tell me please? Thanks in advance!

Yes, robin Berlijn... the one and only ... from the Fatal Flowers.
I saw them play at Parkpop 1990, one of their last gigs.

Yes, to avoid any confusion: Matthijs (with two 't's) was the singer of Flip the Switch, while I (Mathijs, with one 't') was the guitar player of that band.

Matthijs now is now a very much in demand keyboard player, writer and producer, and is now fronting the Sky Pilots, who just has released their first album to rave reviews. Guitarist is Robin Berlijn of Fatal Flowers and Kane fame, drummer Kees Schaper from Tim Knol and Douwe Bob fame, and Mano Hollestelle on bass.

Go buy the album, and go see them live!
