Just once: Let It Loose!

Pros: It'd take advantage of the full band and make Jagger and Richards step outside their comfort zones.

Con: It'd make Jagger and Richards step outside of their comfort zones.

Let It Loose is one of the best songs on Exile and perhaps Mick's most passionate vocal performance ever. It's also one of my favorite songs of all time. Having said that I hope they never attempt to play it live. They might have been able to pull it off on the '72 tour, but would be a total train wreck today. Some songs just sound better on record...and this is one of those. Plus, they would need a real piano and a trumpet player to make it work live.

My oly wish - there are less (2-3 songs) warhorses in Europe than in Asia ... one more song for MT (CYHMK would be great at the same time with MR).

Just don't know if they will keep the setlist at 2 hours now compared to 2,5 hours in 2013 - 2,5 hours gave the option of both MR and CYHMK.

Just Wonder why they have cut Down the time for a consert - 2,5 hours seemed great in US, so why not in Asia and EU, anybody know?

Monkey Man!

Why is SFM not a "war horse"? It's always great and has such a meaningful place in Stones history. Keith always seems to rise to another level when he plays those chords.

Yes and yes (especially SFM), also

(my fantasy) Parachute Woman, Stray Cat Blues, No Expectations, Torn and Frayed, I'm a King Bee, Little Red Rooster

(my more realistic request) Ruby Tuesday

Set list predictions......
Posted by: MadMax ()
Date: April 6, 2014 02:04

Alright fellow IORRians, what about predicting the first half (non-warhorse section) of the following shows in Europé??

Granted, the warhorses section will not be altered with (at least not much)
but it will be interesting to see what they choose to play in each city.

I was trying to chase Beast of Burden last stop in America cause I hadn't got 2 experience it live (in 32 shows!!!) but I made some detective work and assumed they would play it Las Vegas. They did. Same thing with ADTL in Paris same year.

Now, Oslo last time in 2007 we got an amazing Monkey Man, with Keith on the Gibson Junior and a bit rawer than the Lix version if memory serves me right. Then the best version of YCAGWYW ever. What else can we (not expect?) on the opening night? (Granted rehearsals haven't started yet but...)

One thing I know for sure - 8 ouy of 9 songs from Hot Rocks 2 [London 820 142-2].

Regardind the rest... Can't think anything outside warhorses frame.

Well my question and the purpose of my thread was to try to guess what tunes they would put in the "3, 4, (5) spot", based on the songs they had played Before in the actual city.

For instance, there is NO way you will hear Monkey Man or Bitch on the opening nite.

Copenhagen will not get Dead Flowers or Ruby Tuesday or Rox Off for that matter, and Paris will probably not get ADTL, She's So Cold and Waiting on A Friend.

Werchter won't get Some Girls, Heartbreaker or It's All Over Now, and the only 2 tunes they should play from Exile in Stockholm should be ADTL and T Dice (if the past is considered).....

Never understood why they skipped ADTL on numerous Exile themes during the Lix tour..... Rox Off was almost ALWAYS thrown in. Was it only Cleveland who got ADTL in the Exile section?

Any chance for Moonlight Mile (Europe Tour)

I have to say: Moonlight Mile is one of the best songs the Stones ever created, and I would give anything to hear this masterpiece live again. Yes, I would cry if they do Moonlight Mile again; what do you guys think: It is realistic that the Stones will play MM ever live again? Maybe while the Europe Tour 2014?

It could be played soon. We have to wait for rehearsal lists first.

They rehearse all kinds of things - and then don't play them! Yes, I too would LOVE Moonlight Mile. Hell, I'd still give a toe for Silver Train.

#2. Moonlight Mile
#3. Till The Next Goodbye
#4. Winter

#9. New Song
#10. Plundered My Soul

I would want the Stones to play songs that they themselves wish to play, instead of songs they think that they have to play.

I really do not want to determine in detail what they should play. Instead, my plea to the band, surprise me and overwhelm me with your song choices!

"Blue Turns to Grey" in Oslo 26th of May ?

What about this for an idea, The Stones are in town and Cliff Richard is in town, why don't they invite Cliff to join them on stage and they can perform "Blue Turns to Grey" ? A very hidden gem a song I would love to hear in Oslo !!

thumbs down an unknown song sung in duet with a guy who has "zombie from the 60's" written all across his face? Jagger would scream at the idea!

In the same vein, how about "I'd Rather Be With The Boys" with Petula Clark? confused smiley

As I wont be in that show I do not really have an opinion but such suggestions make you think...

Nowdays Cliff Richard is just as old as the Stones people and actually lookes much younger than the other Richard with the cool first name smiling smiley... still we regard the Stones as a still classic rock performance given by people whom - wow! - grew old, while Cliff Richard show would be regarded as utterly Oldie. If you will tell your 40-50 years old friends you are flying to see the Stones they would say "ha - so you're a Stones fan... heard they are still good" while if you will tell them you go to a CR concert in your home town tonight they would most likely say "why? cant your dad go by himself? I recall he is in a good shape - dont tell me he is not well"?

Anyway - here is a duet by the Stones and CR:
