I think this song would have fit better on Satanic.
Impossible as Satanic was released before COTM was recorded.
It has that Beggars Banquet production vibe all over it.

A post above states the following:
For me Child of the Moon is a link between Satanic and Beggars Banquet. It has the trippyness of Satanic but musically sounds more like Beggars.
Agreed!! Must be added that inclusion on Flowers might have worked as well.

ive always thought child of the moon and we love you was the bridge from satanic to beggars, the best era musically for me, regarding the stones and others.

Only sax, I believe. Most likely on mellotron. Phil, what do you say?

People come up with some pretty questionable suggestions for songs live, but this should definitely be on the A list. Good choice.

How is the B side different from More Hot Rocks other than being mono???

It would be nice to have all of Aftermath and everything Aftermath on one album. I think Who's Driving Your Plane would fit in there as well. Anyone care to make a list of the Ultimate Aftermath? Thanks

Just from official releases they would get quite a package. Take the 14 songs from UK version, then add singles from the era - "19th Nervous Breakdown"/"Sad Day", "Paint It Black"/"Long, Long While", probably even "Have You Seen Your Mother, Baby?"/"Who's Driving Your Plane" - and then "Sittin' on a Fence" and "Ride on Baby" from FLOWERS (both deriving from AFTERMATH sessions). Add there cuts like "Out of Time" and "If You Let Me" from METAMORPHOSIS (can't recall if there are some other relevant cuts there). And then there are out-takes and rejects...
To go with it a re-worked, re-mixed version of GOT LIVE IF YOU WANT IT! (or/with Honolulu) and we would have a helluva package to cover that significiant year. Call it ROLLING STONES 1966 or something...
