YES! Keith has said the song is far too close to his heart/life to share with an audience. ( Sorry, I have no link ).

But 'Coming Down Again' is all about his drug troubles and the "where are all my friends" is significant. And also about "slipped my tongue into someone else's pie" is significant. Above all, the tune is really about him and him alone. There's no way (in my opinion) one could interpret the song about someone else .
CE
Examples:
These could be about anyone:
-"Miss You"
- "Slipping Away" is really about life in general
- "Happy" could apply to anyone
- "She's So Cold" could be about anyone
On and on..........

Happy and Before They Make Me Run are also personal Keith songs as well.

But not too close to his heart to put on a record that millions of people would listen to? Not sure about this. Maybe.
I always thought it was because Mick's backup vocals are KEY to that song ... and given the fact they no longer sing together ...

Sorry CE dear, but are you sure you're not misremembering?
Until further notice, that sounds like a statement from someone other than Keith.
RollingFreak, why not ask him on the "Ask Keith" function on his site?
Thought about it but just figured there was no shot he'd ever answer it. Guess there's no harm in trying though.Quote

but seriously this is from a period people were really into the Stones.

Just seems so strange when he's playing something as obscure as Learning The Game its like he's actively avoiding this one. If it was a later Keith track, I would understand, but seriously this is from a period people were really into the Stones.

Slipped my tongue in someone else's pie
Tasting better ev'ry time
He turned green and tried to make me cry
Being hungry it ain't no crime
I've always thought this was about Keith getting it on with Anita Pallenburg...(and Brian being a bit cheesed off........

I thought so as well. But it could also be an admission of Keith's stealing another man's woman. Hence, another statement of "where are all my friends" and also "being hungry, it ain't no crime" even though society looks down upon those who mess with other people's partners and who do drugs. No? He's admitting he's a "rank outsider" and "there's a demon in me". I think........

That's what I mean, didn't Keith make a move on Anita and pull her away from Brian after he (Brian ) got violent with Anita?.....

Oh yes, you're absolutely right. But I'm saying that "Coming Down Again" could be admitting that he (Keith) has done wrong things in the eyes of society (the perfect people). Let's face it - all the 'good people' never take another man's woman much less do the perfect people use hard drugs. He's saying right out loud - I ain't Saint Keith.
My opinions......
