The Unbelieveable Greed of RS Fan Club
Posted by: Chris Fountain ()

My question to RS Fan Club Support was as follows: "If the Stones add another date in Miami will I be able to use my code from the previous concert having only bought one ticket?"

Here is what the greedy pigs replied:

"Hi,

There is a limit of 4 presale tickets per show using your unique passcode. If
you buy less than the maximum limit of tickets (4) for one particular show, and
the transaction has been completed, the passcode becomes void and cannot be
reused for more tickets (even for the same show). Additionally, the passcode
does not carry over for additional shows.

If you'd like to purchase presale tickets for additional shows, you'll need to
purchase another membership to receive a passcode.

(Ticketmaster reserves the right to distribute tickets according to
availability. Please contact them for more information.)

Best Regards,
Joe
Member Support"

THEY CAN GO TO HELL IF THEY THINK I'M GOING TO BUY ANOTHER MEMBERSHIP

I think it's a bit silly to buy only one ticket with a membership. For sure you could find 3 other friends.

Harm,

The point I'm making is the fact that they want their members to buy additonal memberships.

It's too bad they can't give us points.
Say 40 points for 1 membership.
1 stadium/arena ticket access would cost 10 presale pts
1 club show ticket access would cost 20 presale pts

That would be great.
Big fans would still need to take multiple memberships, but it'd seem more customer oriented than profit driven.

Chris,
you should have known that. This information is all over the net. Given that information you shoud buy 4 tickets when you can. Or wait for public sale.
That's my point.

No Harm

I wanted the opportunity to buy from the SAME venue (Two different concerts) twice with out having to purchase TWO memberships... OK?

Chris, I understand your concern, but it is clearly stated that you can use it only once and not twice. I do know that it is frustrating for only one ticket. But I purchase sometimes more and try to swap with collaegues, if possible.

Again I do not give a shit about the one ticket! I do care that if the Stones play Miami again as they are planning, then I will have to buy another membership for a presale... But I will probably just buy from the Public Sale or just show up at the concert and see what unfolds..because by then I will have seen them this tour

Why in the hell would you buy a fanclub membership in order to get a good SINGLE TICKET? If you wanted just one ticket you'd be better off buying in the public on-sale where you would no doubt snag a terrific orphan seat. Surely a better seat than any from the fan-club allotment which are designed to sell in groups of four.

I think it's pretty low calling Chris F a plonker, it won't make his current situation any better. Everybody can make a mistake, even prats from England.

Well, actually I wanted to join the fan club to get film footage during the upcoming tour. I even wanted to join years ago, just never got around to it.

I haven't had time to thoroughly check out the website. I will this weekend and let you know if it is worth the money. Also they are suppose to send a poster and dvd.

Yeah, maybe I paid too much but I will be at center court.

Get over it....either don't go, or pay and go....it's gonna cost you $5 U.S. for a coke and $10 for a friggin' hot dog at the stadium....are you gonna bitch about that too?

It sucks...but there is NOTHING you can do....

nobody forced you to buy anything....and, NO OFFENSE b/c it DOES SUCK and I'm SORRY this happened to you....BUT, you should've read the regulations/rules BEFORE you purchased anything....

buyer beware...it's YOUR responsibility to know....

If you need things to bitch about....try taking on some of the world's more important and pressing issues...there's millions to choose from....

Stickyfingers101:

What issues could be more signifcant than the price of wieners and tix?
Bono and George W are taking care of business as usual.
It's interesting that you think that not a single thing can be done about high prices.
Have you ever heard of politicians, lobbyists and law makers?
You might think that because we're doing things in a certain way today it's obvious
that we'll handle matters in the exact same manner in the future.
I do NOT believe so. There are no goddamned laws of nature in that sense, it's only
a matter of choice and the size of the choir shouting out support for new ideas.
With your way of reasoning there's only one path to follow. Bollocks!!!

Rank...the law of supply and demand hasn't changed for the past 2000+ years....I think it's pretty safe to say it'll be around for the rest of my lifetime...especially when we are talking about LUXURY ITEMS like Stones tickets...

It's not like we're talking about welfare benefits being too low.....

"something is only worth what somebody is willing to pay for it"...The LAWS OF NATURE regarding the market....

I correct my earlier statement that there is "nothing" you can do....you can choose not to purchase those items that you feel are too expensive...and you can TRY to convince others to follow you in this regard...and HOPEFULLY, if you get enough people, the price will change....

that's the LAW of the market....ie, the law of nature in this area...supply and demand, my friend....

check out the "boycott" post here and see how well THAT is going...most posts make a mockery of the idea...

and...yes, you are correct...you can talk to politicians, lobbyists and lawmakers......

BUT,unless the Stones are breaking some law....which they are not.....there is NOTHING they can do about ticket prices (or hot-dog prices) either...if you don't believe me, call them and ask...

the government CANNOT step in and say "The maximum amount Ticketmaster can charge is $X for tickets"....except maybe in North Korea....though, I doubt they have ticketmaster....or too many concerts...or food, for that matter....

in the end, though, my point was that bitching about one's own decision-making as an adult with free will and complete control over one's own finances on a fan-club website is pretty much a waste of time....

P.S.

Stones rule

Well I'm not complaining about the ticket prices..My original post is geared toward unsavory business practices by fan clubs and Ticketmaster. For example I paid $3.95 for shipping and handling of my ticket Thursday last week for regular US mail. They said it would arrive in 2 to 3 days. I'm still waiting.

However, Sticky, I agree with free marketing as long if there is truth in advertising.

And, yeah the Stones do Rule!! It's going to be a fun tour.

This "Fan Club" business is just insanity. For the amount of
money they are asking, I would demand a made to order 5.1, THX
DVD of the show that you are literally an investor in.
Gawd, I miss General Admission seating...
