"Da Doo Run Run" (The Crystals) & "Down The Road Apiece" (Chuck Berry) are from 1940 ?!

"Performer" is a bit 'out of the blue' as a category, here. I mean, some tunes are standards, that have been performed by a multitude of people.
And the true credit should (always) be for the composer, imo. In fact: that's what started this list in the first place, I reckon?!

"The Rest Of The Best, The Stones Story, Part 2" (1983), is that an offical album?
Quite frankly, I never heard of that one...
(nor of an official release of the Stones' take on "Da Doo Run Run".)

Down The Road Apiece is by Don Raye, who released it in 1940. The Stones covered Berry's version of him covering...

Chuck Berry didn't write Route 66 either - that was Bobby Troup

Great release. I bought it a couple of months ago.

The other real gems with this one are the previously (and subsequently) unreleased Broonzy cover, Tell Me, track #2 on Side 2 and the single-day "release" of @#$%& Blues on the blank label 45.

It is also interesting to note that the b-side of Jagger's Memo From Turner, Natural Magic is included. Perhaps this was as a gift to longtime friend, Jack Nitzsche, who would get all writer's royalties from the sale.

It was also the B-side of the MFT-single, no?

Regular albums are to be separated from bootlegs.
I had a page for that, too complicated and i deleted it.

The most influential original is e.g. Route 66 by Chuck Berry and not the version of Bobby Troup.

I had all the songs on the website too to listen and compare, took them off for copyright reasons.
