any ideas as to how to get my hands on to some wyman solo discs? not, rhythm kings but just him. i've heard some rather interesting cuts on pandora as raised my curiosity about him. amazon shows many are no longer made.

I actually have his 1982 eponymous solo album. I think I got it from a used record shop. This one is available through Amazon.

1 Ride On Baby
2 New Fashion
3 Nuclear Reactions
4 Visions
5 Jump Up
6 Come Back Suzanne
7 Rio de Janeiro
8 Girls
9 Seventeen
10 (Si, Si) Je Suis un Rock Star

The record label is One Way Records (under license from Ripple Records).

If you don't have any luck with Amazon, you can try contacting the label:

A few years ago I bought the Bill Wyman Compendium which contains his first three solo records, including the one above, and a bunch of bonus tracks.

I've heard most of his solo stuff and it leaves me cold. I like a couple of tracks on Monkey Grip and then not much else.

The Rhythm Kings are great as is the Willie & the Poor Boys album. Bill's better in a band than solo.

To the point. I also like some things on Monkey Grip, but the rest does not impress me at all. I admire the fact that Bill had the balls to leave the Stones because he did not like the music anymore. He could have made tenmillions of dollars, but he decided to do what he likes. It is not surprising that he did not do fascinating albums on his own. He always said very openly that he has many interests near playing music. He said that he never plays or practices at home. Creating great music takes a lot of devotion. In the end Bill seems to be a charming and authentic man, who is a little weired at times. When I was 12 years old I read the entire Stone alone and found it very interesting. I looked into the book again two years ago and thought that the manner in which it is written is a little bizarre. He gives a lot of unimportant informations: "On the 12th of August in 1966 I visited my parents for breakfast. In the afternoon I took a stroll with my son and our dog in the park".

All his albums are very much available in just about every vinyl shop I've been to lately - several copies of each album smiling smiley
