I thought some of you might like to see this. My dad just bought a scanner for his old slides. The first thing I scanned was the slides he took back in 1982 at the Stones concert in Frankfurt. He was way up front. So he got some great shots of the guys.

The show was three weeks before I was born. My dad took me to my first Stones show 12 years later. From that on we went to see some more on the following tours including Utrecht on the 40 Licks Tour and the last of the two Hyde Park shows this summer.

Great pics! All Stones have some cool clothes on there -- I like Ronnie's striped shirt, white Telecaster and safety googles.

Myself I was born in 1981 and saw the Bridges to Babylon and 40 Licks tour (Gothenburg and Stockholm, respectively) with my dad.

There were three shows in Frankfurt indeed on the 82 tour. Those pics are from the 2nd show on June 30th.

Sorry this is note correct. Mick wore these clothes on the 1st of July. I was three times first row and took about 300 slides or more. On 30th June he was waering a green baseball troursers and a green colored Jacket with MICK on teh back and he also had the US / UK flag.
Sorry I just see that these are photos from different concerts. The further photos are made from the 30th June.

Thats the band i miss

Maybe my dad attended more than one show. He doesn't remember as he just found the ticket from 2nd show, but has been to more than one show on that tour. But thanks for clarifying Grison.

wow oooo wow i was at this show during a long hot summer it brings back a fantastic memory of that stones summer driving from one to another concert in an old VW minibus with friends through europe..

He did not buy a fancy one. The quality could be better, but the thing gets the job done. I think it is quite ok for the money he did spend. He got this one

I was at 2 of the 3 Frankfurt shows. I think that were the only indoor arena gigs on the 82 tour.
Nice memories, good vibes, many American soldiers, Stones in good spirits.
I had a good time . .

Wood used the white Tele on Shattered and what else on that tour?
What else do we know about that guitar?

Does Charlie always used a clear or exposed front kick drum? In those pics you can see the padding.

Thanks John1982. Great story and pictures! You got a good Stones-upbringing as a child. How Was your HydePark visit with your father? Had a good time?

Can anyone recommend a good scanner. I have loads of slides I took at gigs in the 70s that need converting to digital format.

I also have lots of 35mm black and negatives that I've been told can be printed on a computer via a scanner. Anyone know of a good one that is not too expensive?

Hyde Park was great. We were about 10-15 meters away from the ending of the catwalk. It was such a great summer day in London and the Stones were really on fire. We spend the whole weekend in London. Although I try to visit London at least once a year, I never get tired of that city.

Yeah, Mick wore the blue/green trousers on the second show. Most of the pics are from the second show. Keith wore the red shirt at the same show on the other shows he wore a white and a green shirt.
