Chris Jagger's Atcha have just released their new album Concertina Jack, This album features some familiar names here on IORR : brother Mick, Bobby Keys, Tim Ries as well as Atcha's regulars Charlie Hart, Malcolm&Jim Mortimore and Ed Deane. And it sounds great!

Here is the videoclip of its titletrack, a bit of an earworm, if you ask me...




The new record made last summer by the band featuring 11 new songs and titled Concertina Jack after a great uncle of Chris' who left his home and children to sail to Sydney, Australia around 1880.

It also has brother Michael on backups and on another track 'Pearl Of A Girl.' The record is quite bluesy and zydeco influenced, many tracks recorded live.

All things being equal....says Chris, we should have this record out in the beginning of December and a short video to go along with the title track, so thats a good start.

He admits the process has taken time but at this point it does need to be right.

'Most everyone I have played it to thinks its great so hopefully that will be the general response.'

Chris hopes it will make a good stocking filler and knock One Direction off the top spot.

Keep On Rolling

Nice tune, with appealing musical riffs. The way they mixed Mick's vocals on the track (quite forward and up front), they make it obvious that Mick is on the track--I mean, in the chorus it sounds more of a duet than a background vocal harmony.

Funny how Mick's brother has come to resemble Keith a bit--must be the hair, but when he's holding the acoustic guitar and there's not too much of a close-up with the camera, at a glance he's a spitting image.

I think the song would be better Without the video.
The track reminds me of a Baby Song my kids used to watch on Tv. Except the kids in the video look bored. Sorry but kill the video!

That picture is AWESOME! for many reasons

I am in London now and could possibly go to the launch of this tomorrow lunchtime. Will I get up on time? Almost certainly not.

Cool enough song, but the recording suffers like many modern recordings in that everything sounds seperate, it's not unified, just different crystal clear sounds coming at you.
