RO Moderator, info on The Farewell Tour

Lets hope the info in the link below is a farewell only to South America and massive world tours, tho even that is a blow. But follow the link, supposedly solid info by a reputable source on marketing and "The Farewell Tour!"

It probabaly is the last tour. BV said it. Doug said it. Numerous people have said it. I believe it this time. The good news is that they seem to be playing a whole friggin' ton of shows as far as I'm told.

I think the "farewell" tag would be appropriate and helpful (saleswise) - they are competing (at least in the US) against some big-name acts this year.

I don't think it has anything to do with sales. These are a group of people who have given their lives to this thing, they are, (if indeed it is the last), saying goodbye to their fans, and, to something they love very much, The Rolling Stones.

I ain't stupid, I'm just guitarded.

I'm sure it has EVERYTHING to do with sales, actually. The Stones aren't likely to fill stadiums/arenas with the ticket prices they'll be asking against this competition just 3 years after doing so...

If this is the last tour I'll engage in heterosexual intercourse for the first time! And believe me you that's not a thought I want to dwell on!

The Shadows (popular guitar instrumental group), played their 'Farewell Tour' last year, (actually called 'THe Final Tour'.
This year they are doing an 'Encore Tour' - next year they could do a 'Bye Bye for good Tour', followed by a 'Finally fallen off our perches Tour' and a 'Amen, funeral procession Tour' after that. Clearly the lure of filthy lucre is just too much to resist with these old boys.......

For once in his lifetime I believe (note believe) that Gazza is gonna be proved wrong. The guys are going to play till they drop dead. If Keefster got weary, it could end. But he aint (I was afraid for some weeks, but I feel it in my toes that he´s back again). No sources, just toes.

I think that this will be their last major world tour on a giant scale, but after, they'll only do smaller ones by continent, kind of like No Security, I think.
