I can't believe it a friend of mine Les, lost his battle with cancer. He will be missed. He was a Stones fan as well. May you rest in peace buddy, we will meet again one day. Just a month or half ago also lost an acquaintance, she too had cancer. Thanks to you both for all the memories.

So sorry for your loss. I lost someone several months ago to cancer as well. No one around it; cancer friggen blows. Seems to be affecting everyone these days.

Cancer is a horrible disease. I hope Les & your acquaintance didn't suffer a great deal of pain before the end. And if they did, hopefully they were not suffering it for months/years. There is some consolation in knowing they are no longer in any pain now.

Life can be a real bitch.
Several years ago I had serious Ovarian cancer with radiation. I managed to keep a positive attitude and with many thanks to a great surgeon. I'd never been in a hospital before and suddenly it was every day making the trek. I drove myself and tried to think of it as "just one more thing to handle on my "To Do list."

But it broke my heart to be in the waiting room daily with numerous ill people surrounded by loving families in tears. I felt so very sorry for them and I felt helpless because there was nothing I could do to make it better.

So sad for you about the loss of Les.

Very sorry to hear about your loss. I lost 2 close friends 5 years ago. One suddenly and one with throat cancer. I think about them every day. Cancer sucks.
I take some peace in knowing they live in in my memory and the memories of our group of friends from High School. Peace.

Thanks so much everyone for the nice comments on my dear friend Les. My weekend is ruined but life goes on. I'm very heart broken. Here's a little story of how I found out the bad news. A friend of mine was at a bar and was told. About 2 weeks ago this same friend said he saw Les and was asking about me. I just wish I had went to see him, had I known he had this awful disease I would have went instantly. So, a little advice don't hesitate to go see a friend as you never know what is going on if anything health wise. With Les he never told anyone, I still love him dearly as a great friend, he'll do anything for anyone, which he has already has,lots, even give the shirt off his back to a homeless person. Les, you are in my thoughts every day, til we meet again buddy rest in peace.

I lost two friends both diagnosed last year with virulent forms of cancer, both died this July, the same week.

Life is short.
