Right now I am listening to the new WV free download: Humble Pie @ Winterland, SF on May 6, 1973. Very clear recording and a good performance by the band.
I didn't listen to HP at all until a few years ago. I bought their "Rockin'The Fillmore" LP when I saw it at a yard sale. I figured HP must be pretty cool if they played the Fillmore East in the early 1970s. Besides, the LP was only a quarter.

I'm underwhelmed.
Marriott was a fine singer, but he is in a way "too much". Instead of building up the vocal performance, he gives it the full blow from the beginning, which tires my ears very quickly. The band is the same way: Full throttle from the start to finish, which results in a very static performance.
