The OT threads keep this interesting & alive. Especially during the Stones downtimes. There is much more activity here than another Stones site I post on. The other site is good but nowhere near as lively. I'm enjoying myself here.

Getting back to the original post, I think there are way too many OT posts. This is a Stones site so let's talk about the Stones.

The worst example of an OT post, in my opinion,was that sodding royal baby thread - as if we weren't already bombarded with information about that non-event.

If people need to discuss the above and other OT topics (sport being another example) then let them go to sites that cater specifically for these subjects.

If OT posts are considered worthwile by Bjornulf perhaps he might consider a separate "OT Tell Me" area on this site.

Why not just skip the OT threads if they aren't to your liking? I don't follow most of the sports related threads, so I don't read them.

Besides, there are plenty of Stones threads that veer into off topic areas. It's what makes this place interesting, you never know where a conversation is going to end up.

I don't care about OT threads myself. I am just saying either accept OT threads & let them flower or ban them.

Same as MILKYWAY said about allowing for official material to be posted. Don't pick & choose which official stuff is allowed. All or nothing.

And the same for bumping old threads. If we are not supposed to bump them, okay. But don't jump on someone's ass later on when she starts a thread with the same subject as a thread from 2008.

The long and winding road which most threads take here is where the fun is on IORR.

How about... consider letting people (try to) do/post whatever they want to here and letting bv run the place and enforce any rules he wants to, any way he wants to...

...and if anyone feels compelled to "be all in chargey" maybe they can go start their own web site and make and enforce any rules they want to, any way they want to.... and be sure to invite everyone to their website so everyone can try to bend the rules as far as they can, and they can deal with some people who compain about this and that and the other and everything and everybody, and cry when it is not perfect enough for them, or if it is too perfect, then they can whine about it being too perfect.
