Does anyone know a little more about this story? When was it and who was the 'woman'? Go, Keith! >grinning smiley<

It is a bit sad to see people laugh at this type of story.

The visualization is funny as heck...
"A naked Keith and naked woman running behind the hubby... as Branson
takes care of Keith by continuing to talk... thus keeping a gun toting nutjob
from shooting our Keith. Right on Richard... and THANKS!!! just in case Kieth never said it.

Well yeah, it's a funny image, but I see where Drake is coming from. Would you think it was a larf if it was your wife? I have no time for guys that sleep with married woman.

Why was he running anyways, did he not have 'the blade?'

What Keith did was not right, but it takes two to tango. Thank you Richard for looking after Keith and making sure he did not come to any harm.

Getting reception on Sir Branson's Virgin Mobile cell phones really sucks. Wait til you're stranded somewhere. His customer service is the pits, too. Annoys me to have paid towards his private island for years! eye popping smiley

Of course, it's not a cool thing to do. Then again, who in the Stones didn't do this?

To expect that our boys should be well-behaving gentlemen, druggies AND rock stars might be too much, imo.

My brush with greatness--last year, Richard Branson walked between me and the ladies' loo I was standing in line for, flashing all those teeth in my direction cool smiley, and I thought "What the hell's he doing here?" till I realized it was the Virgin Freefest. He was getting down with the music near me later too. Luckily I don't have one of his phones, but it was a great festival!

Well I'm willing to bet a pound to your penny that Charlie hasn't? Watts is a gent!

I see what your saying though. Rockstars can be complete arseholes sometimes!

From Branson's autobiography Losing My Virginity, for those who want more detail:

Hmm--bit of a tall tale, but makes good reading.

A rather uninteresting piece of bad fiction...

Thank you for posting, Title5Take1. That’s definitely a very Keithesque tale. I suspect Richards would’ve liked to have included it in his bio! Wonder if there’s any pictures of this Jamaican girl?

I know nothing about the truth of this story which i have no humour for. If it´s true then a man should not talk about it on tv or in a book(has Branson not been introduced to Pattie?) if it´s not true a man should defenetely not spread this story.

I'm staggered by the prudishness of some posters, here. It’s a tall-tale; a bit of a gander.

It's really unclear when this was supposed to have happened.
"After I had first failed to sign the Stones in 1975, I had come across them again
when they came to record at the Manor" - when was that? It sure sounds like Keith wasn't married at the time,
so it's likely that all this prudery's in vain.

(And to the person who asked if Branson's ever met Patti, in the book excerpt that Title5Take1 posted (thanks!)
Branson indicates that Keith, Bill and Charlie were with "wives and girlfriends"
when he asked Keith about the outcome of the story.)

The only reference I can find on Nico Zentgraf's site to any recordings at "the Manor"
is Bill starting Oui Oui Je Suis un Rock Star at "Shipton Manor Studios, Surrey" in 1980,
by which he must mean Branson's Manor Studio in Shipton-on-Cherwell in Oxfordshire.
But why would any of the other Stones be sleeping on the premises while Bill was recording his single??
Maybe it wasn't even Keith in this anecdote - or the whole story is just BS thru & thru.

Yes funny if it is not your wife.. Childish, immature petulant acts of KR "validate" his RandR mystique but are rather silly and irresponsible. I wonder how funny people would have found it if the husband shot and killed KR, the wife, and Branson.. Is that a "larf" too?

... The man wasn't her husband, according to the book excerpt, he was her "partner".
Which may or may not help anyone relax a little.

He mentions Stones/Manor on the right page, but I guess just to "include" them, because it contradicts the timeline you mention above.
After signing the Stones years later, just below:
