Our eyes met once or twice, across dimly lit rooms, and on the streets, worlds away, back in forgotten cities.
I believe they did. I know they did, long ago.
Or was it just a mirror, a trick of the light?

What kind of upside-down universe do I live in, where His Mickness is 70?...it's hard to comprehend.
Should I jack it all in and start playing 'video games', or something. Watch movies made in Hollywood, for audiences with a mental age of 9?
Who will now guide me thu the dark, who will inspire me? What's left in this tragic modernity?
A bit of fine dining, maybe. And maybe some annoying, complicated,jaded travel. Certainly wine and drugs in sickening moderation. Apart from the packets of poisonous shit The Doctors will invariably soon be doling out. Ugg.

This guy can't do it any more, for us. For himself. Can he? Apart from the absurd freak show: that he's not dead, that he still runs around, hyper-thin, in some cranky, spooky way.
His un-deadness is the thing. Isn't it? Thats the show. The fresh, important, tunes stopped decades ago. They served him, and us, quite well.

Now. He's well tired, and well bored, eh.... it's not surprising, it's over. It's all turned to dust, as it should and must.
Entropy is bigger than us.

As Keef Richards, who art not quite in heaven, once said to Elvis, just before he tragically jumped out of his Graceland bathroom window :
