What's wrong with a little trolling?

What is trolling?

Look in the mirror and say JumpinJackOTripe.

Stop being a stone throwing chicken shit and agree to have a decent discussion for once! I hear this word troll used a lot around here, but has it ever been clearly defined?

That's not being a stone throwing chicken shit, that's just telling the truth. I have decent discussions with people that are actual fans. In case you can't figure out what that means, there is no having a decent "discussion" with you.

Here is the definition of troll: YOU. ALL of you. MightyJackO etc. You announce you're going away... yet you don't. For perfect example, you post inane posts that are full of crap, like your Beatles Vs Stones malarkey or this one, some epic mythical soaring past the Beatles crap, which hilariously you decide to say after their last performance - before the next one. You're like colonies of termites: turn out the lights they go away? Nope. Turn the lights on and there they are.

How would you define someone that has unlimited enthusiasm for the Rolling Stones, a flair for the dramatic, doesn't take himself too seriously, and has a pretty fair sense of humor? Well, that is how I would describe myself within the context of IORR and the world of Rolling Stones fandom. Yet, you say I define troll. Maybe you should check the New World Dictionaries definition of a troll? And while you are at it check out the definition of fan.

here's a song about it:

Strange that Ernest T Gas didn't throw rocks at you for this. Oh, maybe it's something personal with me after all? Ya Think?

It's been history now since Saturday night.

I think he just craves attention. He comes here and loves the fact that people are talking about him. In his head he is a celebrity. He's a major drama queen with his many goodbye threads and then he comes back under a different name because he knows it creates excitement (in his head). Notice how he mostly responds to threads that he creates. He's not a general user of this board. He only cares about things HE wants to talk about. Sometimes he'll respond to other people's threads but mostly it's his own. He loves the fact that people reply to his comments and he loves replying to his own. It's very strange behaviour. I've never seen anything like it before. But who knows, maybe there's one like him on every popular message board. I don't think he's playing a joke on us and "acting" because this has been going on for way too long.
Anyways, that's just my theory.

You really got into this. I am impressed. You may be onto something, gumboot. We will think about what you have said over our vacation and have a response for you on either October 18 or on Halloween night. In the meantime, have a great summer and don't forget to see the movie The Lone Ranger when it comes to a theater near you. Since Johnny Depp is playing Tonto I think they should have cast Keith as the Lone Ranger.

Obviously they are not fans of Phil Hendrie either.

Finally, 50 odd years down the line the Stones soar past the Beatles...quite an achievement! smileys with beer

They must be so pleased to get that monkey off their back. I wonder if they're a little embarrassed that it took them 43 years to win against a band that wasn't even in it to compete any more?

At least now JJOL can find something new to cheerlead about!

Never underestimate the power of the Beatles.

Yes, if they decide to do a new album I will be out of business.

The Beatles are pulling out all stops to attempt to cling to number one, but it's too little too late. Once the Stones left the stage at Glastonbury it was over. Did Mick raise his index finger to the crowd (like Joe Namath did after defeating the "bully league" in 1969?)

OK, this guy, then:

Tell me, do you prefer to be called Phil, or Mr. Hendrie?

In fact, one of your previous characters--I mean predecessors, excuse me--even started a thread about you--I mean about Phil, er, uh, Mr. Hendrie--on whether or not Phil Hendrie is a Rolling Stones fan....

It was a very good performance. But it didn't re-write rock history.

True, but it did vault them past the Beatles for greatest rock 'n roll band of all time. In my humble opinion, of course.

I am much better looking than Phil, but I am obviously a huge fan of his. The man has had me in tears and stitches for years. Remember, I am also a huge fan of Don Cherry, Barney Fife, Pat O'Day, Don Rickles, just to name a few.

Just a little insight: I took up the game of golf at age 30 and shot 72 within six months by imagining myself as Jack Nicklaus.
