What's the most "obscure" song they have played live?
Posted by: rollingon ()

I wonder what's the most "obscure" song (of their own material) they have played live sometimes?

I mean in a real live concert, not some studio live stuff.

For example Winter and Time Waits for No One have never been played live but what 's the nearest thing in your opinion?

it had been gaining some recognition from a recent soundtrack....but good call.

i might go with the one-off parachute woman at the orpheum. for full disclosure, however, i was there and i'm biased...and it was awesome.

Don't Look Back in 2002 was at least a big surprise.

If radio-studio concerts count: Dust My Pyramids in October 64
If that doesn't count ... I'm Yours and I'm Hers, The Sun Is Shining, and/or Moon Is Up

(I'd go with Melody, but besides the Shepherd's Bush rendition, a fragment of it was also played at Nijmegen in 95,
so unless that was a mass hallucination it's been played in concert 1.1 times, which is a 0.1 step up from serious obscurity.)

Ah, there you go, the "Just Another Night" intro apparently played by Jeff Beck at the "100 Club" in 86.

During a solo show : "What Kind of World is This ?"

country honk has been played 0.1 times. if we're scoring by lowest score, it wins, i think.

What About 'Jump On Top Of Me' in Paradiso in 1995?

Exactly what came to my mind as well! Why they haven't released that gig in completion still baffles me. Now I'm off to listen to Foottappers n Wheel Shunters...

Well it's not that "obscure" since it was used in the soundtrack of a Robert Altman (dud) movie, right ?

I was flipping through the setlist.fm stats and was very surprised to see "Indian Girl" listed here [www.setlist.fm] for "Niedersachsenstadion, Hanover, Germany" on May 23rd, 1990 ?! Is that someone's idea of a joke? Apparently not [en.wikipedia.org] - now WTF is that recording of that!

This was just discussed recently on some other thread - it was Factory Girl, not Indian Girl.
Someone should correct that wikipedia page.

Edit: spinning smiley sticking its tongue out What therollingmanu said spinning smiley sticking its tongue out ... and some sssoul *has* corrected the wikipedia page

Thanks, wow, that's a relief (in the sense that I would have been "ashamed" to have missed that, but it would still have been amazing to listen to) ! Let me go and fix that setlist.fm page like NOW !
