A beautiful You Got The Silver:

Was this show very loud? Some of the best close-up videos suffer from crackly distorted sound in places where those from further away seem better. "You Got The Silver" from joeypgh1 is beautiful, but some of his other videos are almost unlistenable (candidates for kleermaker's best-video-plus-best-audio work?)

From these videos, the sound overall is best on the ones taken from directly off stage left, because the guitars are full and solid sounding and you can really hear the drums in all their jazzy nuances.
I agree with DoomandGloom's comment above about Charlie pushing Keith to make him better. It was, after all, Charlie's suggestion to tour with a stripped-down stage arrangement and Keith responded that this move would really put the pressure on the guitar section. But Charlie truly admires and respects Keith as a player and it is well known how Keith loves to play off Charlie's drumming. In both the Midnight Rambler and Six Days videos (the "stage left" videos), you can see Keith turning around and strolling up in front of Charlie's drums to play off him as he has always done. Whereas in recent tours Charlie's drumming has seemed rote and by the numbers (and, for that matter, Keith's playing), Charlie's drums have a punch and dynamic range that hasn't been heard since the 70s (or, perhaps, since '81/'82). Charlie is really cooking, because he wants Keith to do well and prove that he really can play the guitar with a touch of the old spark.

It's Only Rock & Roll complete (visually not wonderful at first, but bear with it, it gets better, and sound is fine)
Glad we've finally got all of this one - it's good, innit?
