Thank you for posting that. It was really interesting. I often wonder what the Stones music would have evolved into if Taylor had not left. I would imagine some really brilliant music.

actually Taylor didn´t say he got the call in´77.he just referred to the toronto case Keith
was involved in ´77 and Jagger´s remark " we´re gonna have to do this tour without Keith".
Must have been the ´78 tour then,which might have been planned in ´77 but surely not fixed or even scheduled.

Well.... he clearly states that he got a call from Jagger
Mick called me in London and said “Could you help us out?”. I said “what do you mean help you out?”. He said “I think we’re gonna have to do this tour without Keith” and I said “that’s ridiculous, you can’t do a tour without Keith. That’s not the Rolling Stones”. He said “I might have to because that’s part of the contract”. I said “Mick, I know how things work with the Stones and I’m sure a solution will be found. But if you can’t find, yeah I’ll do it”. I’ve never told anybody else that story
