He could help Mick with some medal detecting.

(Don't bother.... Not even I know what I mean there).

Nothing new there, compared to other recent interviews, though...
Now he is upset at home - no more stones, no more stones, rather my metal detector ...hot smiley

That's the melting point of lead.

It all makes sense.

How many more 'metal detector jokes' are they're going to be? It's like the lazy reference whenever Bill's name is brought up.

I heard he was going to join a heavy metal band after leaving the stones, but couldn't find any on the beach.

To be honest I met him on the 76 tour and found him to be a very odd guy. Perhaps I've seen him on a bad day.I loved Keith and Ronnie. Charlie was mostly drunk.Jagger was on his own. But . . well . .

Unpleasant and swearing left and right I once read somewhere?

The Stones already have the most state of the art shows. It can't get any better.

No great loss. He put in his time during their best recording/live years. His overall input into their sound is relatively small compared to the others. They didn't let him write or sing. The bass isn't mixed very heavy on the recordings either unless Keith or someone else is playing. He's old and crotchety let him retire and hold his grudges while he still reaps the celebrity.

Approximately 328 if he stays out of the picture...if he rejoins them it will increase significantly...

The real joke is that Bill calls himself an "archaeologist" as a result.

Yes, you're right, actually--because Bill is 100% serious. Metal detecting--it's not just for old guys on the beach anymore....

“Metal detecting is not just for anoraks or eccentrics; it’s probably the best and most enjoyable way of learning about our history,” says ex-Rolling Stone Bill Wyman. So much so, that Bill Wyman has designed a metal detector with a unique appeal to children that has won praise from the likes of Richard And Judy.

Deadly serious.
Thats the model under investigation. Apparently it finds pre-pubescent girls better then it finds precious metals...

Do you mean to imply that JJF was the first "heavy metal" tune?

heh, perhaps although it says it's the "bill wyman signature detector" - i thought it could be used to detect a key signature...

I love that there's the proprietary switch in place, allowing you to move between inland and beach modes.

So very convenient.

I wonder if there's been any thought to adding the 'dumpster diver' mode. That could be hugely profitable.
