We're allowing him to prance around and jab at things like he's air drumming...what more do we as fans have to do for this band?

FYI- He is doing mathmatic calculations when it appears that he is simply pointing,
he is quite the multi tasker.... singing.... dancing... running... doing math...
asking everyone if they are "doing awright?"

That clears a lot up. Thank you.
So he's counting people with 2013 tour shirts on and making sure his share of the take is correct?

Exactly....
after all those years of getting cheated, he keeps very close track of things now.

That Katy sure has been generating a lot of press since her big night with Mick and the boys. The story has been picked up by several news publications such as USA Today, US Weekly, Rolling Stone, Huffington Post, etc. More good publicity for the Stones..

PS- you behave yourself Charlie Watts!

yes, i chose to interpret the original poster's title for this topic as:

"katy fuggin perry tonight's guest..."...(he googles her name, up comes a picture of her...) "good lord"

I will admit something, I never much liked the song Beast of Burden.

I didnt hate it, it was more apathy. I mean, I guess it is a Stones song, so it is ok, but there were 200 other Stones songs I would rather hear live at a concert... it was just too mellow for my tastes, or maybe I guess it must have had something to do with being a love song.... or me not caring whatever Mick was talking about, or who he was singing to... BUT....

BUT... when he and Katy started singing/talking to each other the lyrics, the song came alive. DAMN RIGHT Jagger wants to make some sweet love down by the fire to hot as hell Katy Perry... and then the way Katy was holding her palm out at Mick, it was awesome... the song suddenly came alive for me.

Katy and Jagger singing to each other changed it, for the better.

... and I got that just from watching the video.

Thank you very much to the people who capture the video for us, and Thank you to the Stones for allowing people to video capture for us... I mean what the fk if that moment in music had just evaporated?

And ya juts gotta love the way at the end,
Mick says Katy!! and Katy says THE STONES!! as
she saunters off the stage with no pomp and circumstance...just bubye.
====================================

All I want is for you to make love to me
I'll never be your beast of burden
I've walked for miles my feet are hurting
All I want is you to make love to me

Am I hard enough
Am I rough enough
Am I rich enough

Oh little sister
Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, girl
You're a pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty girl
Pretty, pretty
Such a pretty, pretty, pretty girl
Come on baby please, please, please

===========================================

Great for Katy Perry,
I wish the best for her,
may her star shine a long long time.

yeah i really don't want her singing with the stones either. maybe she could stand on stage and just dance off to the side if they need her up there

Don't forget that is because you probably also searched for the Stones, earlier. Google typically remembers your every move.
If your first search result were Katy Perry in a state of undress, guess what you searched for earlier. winking smiley

You are saying you dont get a Stones reference in the top search results when you did a search of Katy Perry today?

I looked on Yahoo, Google and Bing, and they all show the same. It is good publicity for The Stones.... and I only mentioon it because I did not realize Katy was that famous. But apparently she is very, very popular, world wide.

Wow, also on the search results.... I see Katy did a SUPER tour of the planet and it looks like it sold quite well. She must have raked in the cash on that tour (those are all arena dates). Hard work, but touring arenas pays very very well these days. Good for her.

Here's the HD version of the video that has been making the rounds. When I uploaded it live, could only do standard. For the purists, this is better visually.

Shot a few videos that night. I'll be putting the HD versions up today hopefully. If you care to see them, just click on my videos and watch the most recent.

I don't care how popular or attractive Katy Parry is. I still would prefer to not see her with the Stones. Is Mick so insecure in the quality and integrity of the Rolling Stones music that he has to add the flavour of the moment in the hopes of remaining current? I can understand wanting to attract a new audience, but what's next? Justin Bieber, Madonna in her heydey? The Stones, with the addition of Mick Taylor and a few more of their non stanard repetoire, played with passion is all they need. That and maybe ticket prices that are not in the stratosphere! Come on Mick, have faith in yourself, we want to see the Rolling Stones, not some guest. You guys can do it!

Again, if this performance (like other random events/people/songs/channce meetings) does not happen or exist, what else does not happen in the world. What does this duet spark, what does it change?

Jagger could have chosen not to do it, he could have done this song like he has done it 1000 times, but wait... havent people been clamoring for something different? Begging for it?... but when people actually get something different, what do they do about it?... the same old whining, moaning and complaining... maybe it is these whining people who need to do something differerent.

Jagger changed it up, he altered the song/set/future/news. He helped invent the news stories (just look at the news feeds), he created activity where there was none.

If Mick sings BOB like he always does, then this thread dosesnt exist, and people write nothing, the 6 pages does not exist.... and becasue they wrote nothing, they leave the house early, and that car (which would have passed by without notice 2 minutes earlier) suddenly is there, and crashes into the person who didnt post, and there is a blazing inferno.... and everyone dies... all because that person did not post about Katy and Mick, because Mick chose to not do it.

But Mick did do it, and no one died (this time) and here you are alive to read this post.

Why don't we stop the little boy sexist bs for a moment and think up some current women singers who might be more appropriate for the Stones. I vote Lucinda Williams. Anyone else have a constructive choice?
