Hmmmm. Saw Prince Wednesday night at Grove of Anaheim (AMAZING, btw... great venue, too.) Sounds like that would never happen (based on the other thread about Prince opening for the Stones in '81)... Too bad.

p.s. Jack White does a lot for the music scene in Nashville, which is one reason he gets kudos. He records really local artists like high school bands... think the world of the guy, myself.

"Just a poor girl in a rich man's house" * Rockin' in Nashville, TN!

Fogerty struggled big time, both with his vocals and with his guitar playing. It is the first time his usually rich voice has sounded thinner than Mick's voice.

The song wasn't really in his key, though...

His voice has changed in the past decade or so, less gritty. It would be interesting if the Stones took it a step further and backed him while he and Mick did Fortunate Son. It couldn't be worse than his new bombastic remake with the Foo Fighters.

Has added a cool element for me!!

Love to check the boards and see who the guest was.

Great addition to the shows in my opinion.

It's a bit strange though. For fifty years they hardly had any guest artists on and now - two at every show!

Sorry, I don't agree.
After all, Mick Taylor is a guest.
Also Tom Waits, Buddy Guy, Jack White, John Fogerty and Bonnie Raitt are all cool.
I look forward to being surprised on the 15th.
Only 5 days!!!

No, Taylor is not a guest, he used to be in the band.

Yeah, those other people are cool, some great musicians. There's lost of cool people around, doesn't mean I want to see them on stage with the Stones. There's very, very few guest spots where you don;t think after that the song would have been better without the guest. And Lisa Fischer, who is not a guest, kicks the ass of anyone who has attempted GS (although Florence was pretty good).

The Allman Brothers Band have guests sit in quite often.(Not Lady Gaga though.)

The Stones
Dave Matthews and Justin Timberlake were utterly awful, but on the other hand
I did like Jack White and Buddy Guy on Shine A Light.

huh?

granted buddy guy was fabulous

but jack white? he butchered loving cup and rendered it unlistenable with his brutal singing

It adds nothing and completely sucks!

You are aware that Mick Taylor is a guest for this tour, right?

I'm ok with guests but Keith should pick the guests, not Mick. I'm betting that Keith was responsible for Bonnie Riatt, Fogerty, and Tom Waits (not to mention Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman) and Mick was responsible for Gwen Stefani.
