It adds nothing and completely sucks!

I think it's a great idea....can't wait who's next..........

And what it adds is a bit diversity in the set

...the guest spot approval rating is directly attributable to the guest spot selection...

I don't understand the "Look we're still relevant" type choices Mick makes like GaGa and Winehouse or Timberlake.

But I do like the peer group choices Keith makes like Waits, Raitt and Fogerty...Clapton and Guy were good too...

Bring on peer Tom Jones!

Who´s to blame for Dave Matthews ?

Dave Matthews and Justin Timberlake were utterly awful, but on the other hand
I did like Jack White and Buddy Guy on Shine A Light.

Yes, I've got a problem with that as well ....... don't really think it's necessary for the Stones to utilise guests like this, don't know why they do it to be honest.

It's becoming the most transparent gimmick in their arsenal. It's boring, and a lazy way for musicians to drum excitement.

Another positive reason to sit this tour out besides "being able to pay the rent" - not subjecting oneself to Celebrity Rolling Stones Karaoke.

I thought Clapton was excellent last year at the O2. However, not all guests are impressive. Then again that's a matter of taste. Another explanation might be they're letting their favorite artists play onstage with them, as a sort of homage. Just a thought.

It is obvious that the choice of guests it is 100% Mick's decision Richards has no influence. By the way if you look at Youtube or Stones app you'll find video where Richards says that Lady Gaga has been the best guest so far, how talented Amy was and what a shame that she died prematurely
But in any case I like your old-fashioned devotion: all the things you like about the Stones it is Richards achievement, all that you dislike it is Mick's fault

When 68 year old Muddy Waters played with Stones in their 30 in Checkerboard lounge there were probably people who asked why he didn't want to play with his peers and chasing cheap popularity and relevance.

Sorry, I don't agree.
After all, Mick Taylor is a guest.
Also Tom Waits, Buddy Guy, Jack White, John Fogerty and Bonnie Raitt are all cool.
I look forward to being surprised on the 15th.
Only 5 days!!!

Honestly, I think even Justin Timberlake was a nice surprise and he made Miss You sound fresh. I could do without Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani and Keith Urban, but Tom Waits and John Fogerty are simply great and so were their guest appearances. Florence Welch gave Gimme Shelter a wild Patti Smith touch and I even liked Let It Bleed with Dave Matthews back in 2006. Hope they will have Eddie Vedder (Waiting On A Friend), Peter Wolf and some talented blues musicians in the shows to come.

guests are cool, sometimes you get someone who you'd never see otherwise, hope they continue in Washington DC! (i knew they woudn't forget me on this tour!)

Re: Stop with the guests!

Fogerty struggled big time, both with his vocals and with his guitar playing. It is the first time his usually rich voice has sounded thinner than Mick's voice.

The song wasn't really in his key, though...

Jack White is the most overrated artist in the history of rock music.

of course. It was Mick who sang with him, right? Clapton rather Mick's friend and yet he plays with Richards so why the fact that Waits is Richards' friend prevent Mick from choose him as a guest? Did he allow himself ever to say something disrespectful about Jagger?

As far as I remember he said that I Just Want To See His Face - Mick's song - his favorite Stones song

It's a sickness. A sickness you share in another form.
But I was aware you'd take exception...

Its a non-technological gimmick. It's like inflatables but with real people. Part of show biz, yo.

Sure. Watch the video. Waits doesn't even respond to Jagger and beelines it over to the man who brung him at the end of the song. Says it all...or part of it...

Well Buddy Guy and One Direction will be around the DC area when they play.
Buddy would be cool to see.

Here's who's booked in Vegas this weekend-

Elton John

Beach Boys (the Mike Love version, not the full group)

Mary Wilson of the Supremes

Foreigner (only Mick Jones is left)

Fabulous Thunderbirds

I don't count Donny and Marie, Boyz II Men, Great White, Taylor Hicks, Moly Ringwald (!) or any of he "tribute" acts, for obvious reasons.

If they have any Vegas guests, they will "imported" in for the show. UNLESS, because I don't know when Elton John's show starts at Caesar's and I'm too lazy to check, they somehow arrange for that to happen.

For the curious, Wayne Newton is booked Saturday night in Canyonville, Oregon. Tom Jones, surprisingly, is booked to do a sold out 8:00 p.m. show at the venerable Troubador Club in Los Angeles. Sadly, it doesn't look like Jones could do it. I saw Jones five years ago at the MGM Grand's Hollywood Theater (about 700 capacity, give or take) and he was great.

well, then - come on down, Elton! Seriously - the guy's a legend...bring him back for another workout of honky tonk women...then medley it with honky cat. highlight of the tour, for sure.

Damn. Thats just the Tom Jones smokescreen...he'll be there and he's gonna blow doors off Rip This Joint and then ass slap Mick Taylor. Jones is an amazing performer...

and don't be fooled, that is not the fabulous thunderbirds...not anymore...
