...the guest spot approval rating is directly attributable to the guest spot selection...
I don't understand the "Look we're still relevant" type choices Mick makes like GaGa and Winehouse or Timberlake.
But I do like the peer group choices Keith makes like Waits, Raitt and Fogerty...Clapton and Guy were good too...
Bring on peer Tom Jones!

Yes, I've got a problem with that as well ....... don't really think it's necessary for the Stones to utilise guests like this, don't know why they do it to be honest.

It is obvious that the choice of guests it is 100% Mick's decision Richards has no influence.

It is obvious that the choice of guests it is 100% Mick's decision Richards has no influence. By the way if you look at Youtube or Stones app you'll find video where Richards says that Lady Gaga has been the best guest so far, how talented Amy was and what a shame that she died prematurely
But in any case I like your old-fashioned devotion: all the things you like about the Stones it is Richards achievement, all that you dislike it is Mick's fault

of course. It was Mick who sang with him, right? Clapton rather Mick's friend and yet he plays with Richards so why the fact that Waits is Richards' friend prevent Mick from choose him as a guest? Did he allow himself ever to say something disrespectful about Jagger?
As far as I remember he said that I Just Want To See His Face - Mick's song - his favorite Stones song

Long John Stoner
Here's who's booked in Vegas this weekend-
Elton John
Beach Boys (the Mike Love version, not the full group)
Mary Wilson of the Supremes
Foreigner (only Mick Jones is left)
Fabulous Thunderbirds
I don't count Donny and Marie, Boyz II Men, Great White, Taylor Hicks, Moly Ringwald (!) or any of he "tribute" acts, for obvious reasons.
If they have any Vegas guests, they will "imported" in for the show. UNLESS, because I don't know when Elton John's show starts at Caesar's and I'm too lazy to check, they somehow arrange for that to happen.
For the curious, Wayne Newton is booked Saturday night in Canyonville, Oregon. Tom Jones, surprisingly, is booked to do a sold out 8:00 p.m. show at the venerable Troubador Club in Los Angeles. Sadly, it doesn't look like Jones could do it. I saw Jones five years ago at the MGM Grand's Hollywood Theater (about 700 capacity, give or take) and he was great.
