WHy did this song become such a cheesey duo song??

I loved the Stripped version. Then Dave Matthews RUNIED it in the BtB radio broadcast. Then on The Biggest Bang we get Eddie Vedder AND that Chinese guy. I know they payed it a bunch of times in 2012 without a guest singer. Let's leave it that way. I can't stand when they shoe-horn a guest into a song that's doesn't require one. (I'm especially looking at you, Sheryl Crow and Christina Aguilera).

Gimme Shelter - that does make sense to have a guest. Same if they brought back Melody. Even Salt of the Earth in 89 with Axel nearly made sense. Hell, bring Macca and maybe Bowie to sing on "We Love You". Hmmm... funny how they never bring guests on that have the potential to flatten them in quality (on vocals, anyways).

I hope in the future that there's no more butchering of this song in particular with guests. Even when they don't completely f#$& up the words Gwen-style, it pulls me out of the performance, and the song... every time. Cheapening it with each additional gimmicky guest.

Yup, I remember hearing a sneak-peak of No Security on the local classic rock station. I actually yelled at the radio.

This, however made me want to smack him in the face with my DVD set...

Mick 'n' Keef - please no one else -
Imagine them eyeballing each other mic to mic

kEEF to Mick

I watched you suffer a dull aching pain
Now you decided to show me the same
No sweeping exits or off stage lines
Could make me feel bitter or treat you unkind

Mick to Keef
I know I've dreamed you a sin and a lie
I have my freedom but I don't have much time
Faith has been broken tears must be cried
Let's do some living BEFORE we die.

I think Christina Aguilera did it really well in "Live with me" from Shine a light... She has such a powerful voice and she definitely can sing it right

Dave Matthews doesn't do much for me, but I didn't mind him on WH or Memory Motel, not a fan of that LIB performance though. He was really good on "House".

I'm not sure she would work, though I do love her. What a voice, but it's too unique of a voice, I can't imagine those two harmonizing. Same way it went down with Vedder, two great voices, but not necessarily voices that go together. It could be worth a shot though.

I'm not sure she's "hip" enough for Mick these days though, the last two times I've seen her were on Celebrity Apprentice and some horrible sitcom with Fran Drescher. And I saw her on some Saturday Morning kid's show not too long ago.

Right you are. Nothing matches the way the sang together on the original. I'd love to hear them do it together.

Keith actually sounds quite good here, when Gwen's not drowning him out.

Her broadway show just got 13 or 14 Tony nominations

Haley Reinhart. She, along with Slash and Myles Kennedy do a brilliant heartfelt version of Wild Horses at Muhammad Ali's 70th Birthday last year:

No shit? Good for her!! I didn't even know she had a Broadway show, that's a little off my radar. What was she doing on Celebrity Apprentice then? That's usually where the Stephen Baldwin's and Gary Busey's of the world go when there's no more recognition to be had, but since there's a charity aspect of it maybe she was actually in it for that.

She said on Howard Stern it was for the charity. I recently saw her on tour with Dr John. It was kick ass. She did an album of blues covers. good stuff

Does anybody know whether this was just a method for the opening night or are they gonna have incapable guests for the whole tour? Really loved to see "Respectable" on the setlist but like this.....
