Looking at these, I have a line from a song rolling in my head: "I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now."
Great collection of snaps. A fun part for me was to look at the snaps and figure when getting stoned became a way of life for the band. Another thing that hit me is that Bill already looked like an older guy even back in the early days of the band. One can only wonder if they'll be like Chuck B still tying to kick it out in their mid 80s. Imagine the snaps, the road maps on their faces to be read in every photo.
How appropos there's a pix of the Stones signing their names on a Mercedes, one of the more over-rated vehicles in the world today. More interesting is that in the pix where the band members are all wearing matching tattersall pattern jackets, Brian, Keith and Bill are holding guitars made for left handed players. Who knew they were ambidextrous.
I doubt they did. Most of them (the musicians) didn't think they would make it to the age of 40, much less performing. It's quite a phenomenom these "classic" rockers and blues musicians performing well into their 70's and 80's even. Grace Slick once said that they never thought they would ever get old. That's a pretty common mindset when you're very young. The Stones are doing great!
