Just watched short tribute to her on the 7.30 report. I was reminded as to just what a crackerjack performance she gave on the Boys in Town video. Still packs a punch!

Chrissy, Rest In Peace, or rip it up up there, as you did so well down here.
Thank you for the great music.

Former Divinyls singer Chrissy Amphlett has died in New York after a long battle with cancer.

Amphlett, 53, lived in New York with her husband, former Divinyls drummer Charley Drayton (and Keith Richards bass player and lately Cold Chisel's drummer).

She revealed in 2010 that she had breast cancer and she had also battled multiple sclerosis.
I remember in the early 80's that Springsteen was a big fan of the Divinyls.
Sad loss to Aussie music....

pool's in but the patio ain't dry

rip Chrissie

Thanks for the Divinyls (which I'm listening to right now) & all those great live shows I saw in the 80s as a teen. The Oz music scene needed you & will miss you.

Condolences to Charley& family.

Agreed although it is actually the Rockwiz band not the Divinyls. Rockwiz is an Aussie music quiz show filmed live in Melbourne very popular with ageing baby boomers like me. The house band is hot!
Anyway great performance by Chrissie-she will be missed

Very sad day for Oz Rock.
I lived in Oz from '69'-'72 and tried to keep up with the talent over there ever since, and she was up there with the very best.
R.I.P. Chrissy sad smiley

Wow,
That's sad. I had read that she had MS and then cancer, but I had no idea it had progressed to that point.
RIP.

Horrible, because she had MS, she wasn't able to receive chemo for her cancer.
