Really? I think its one of the best Stones songs and covers ever. Brian is stunning and Mick is great too.
And the sound/mix/production is amazingly good for 1964, imo.

What guitar pedal is that in Mona? I'm assuming it's Brian Jones playing. A similar effect is in Please Go Home.

In the early days Bo Diddley used Magnatone amps because they had that "true vibrato sound", not "tremolo".

Yeah! Exactly. That whole album was fantastic, still one of their best. Their debut...I love the mix/prod. Mona still sounds amazing. Mick still trying to find his own style is great on it, not just Brian.
Same goes for Route 66, maybe more a Keith, Bill and Mick number.

I have seen holograms or film clips "perform" in concert. I suppose, if the Stones wanted to be truly tacky -- or perhaps reverential -- they could project a hologram of Brian and "perform" with him. Tackiness or reverence would depend on each viewer's taste.
For example. they could perform "I Wanna Be Your Man" and show Brian in his 1964 glory performing the solo on some TV show I recently saw on You Tube. Or show a clip of Brian blowing into his recorder as they run through "Ruby Tuesday." Or play "No Expectations" in the same key as in "Rock and Roll Circus" and show Brian "playing along" with them.
I recently saw the Who do this with Keith Moon -- I think it was the Hurricane Sandy concert, right? In the moment, I thought it was kind of cool.
