My First: THE WHO 1975 November
My 2nd: Rolling Stones June 1976 and then a ran away from homewinking smiley all around Europe. But I crawled back as already at that time I knew: We're only in it for the money

I suspect some people are not telling us their real first band.

The support act is the real first band.

For example, the order in which I really saw live bands is.

1 Doctors of Madness (supporting Bebop Deluxe)
2 Bebop Deluxe
3 The Meters (supporting the Rolling Stones)
4 The Rolling Stones.
5 ???????? (supporting Rod Stewart - can't remember who they were or if he had a support)
6 Rod Stewart

I'm lucky enough to remember the first band because they were good and they stood out (Kid Strange was an "interesting" individual).

Rod had Air Supply opening on the 1977 tour. Later, Patti Smythe (not Smith) opened some shows. Usually no opener for him.

the real first band must´ve been
Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band 1980 in Düsseldorf.

Before I went to my first show in ´78 to see Tangerine Dream,
which isn´t a band but a wall of syths...

Using that criteria, my first live band was Buffalo Springfield, followed by the McCoys, The Standells, then The Rolling Stones.

A month later, Bobby Hebb, THe Ronettes, then The Beatles.

THose were some pretty decent shows!

My first band was the Muddy Waters Blues Band featuring Johnny Winter at the Capital Jazz Festival in London in 1979. The next day, I also got to see Chuck Berry there. Quite an experience for a 15 year old!

My lost concert virginity when I was taken along, too young(to appreciate it), to see Black Oak Arkansas open for Humble pie. We had upstairs balconey crappy seats, and I didnt really appreciate or understand what it was all about, but I liked it, a lot.....

Also saw these 2 bands (same tour?) on Long Island. Was that 1973?

I would have thought it was earlier, but I remember getting a poster
from the show and it said "Eat it"... which came out in 1973.... so voila!

OK, just looked it up. May 29 at MSG. [home.comcast.net]

Very very cool smileys with beer
and there is my date on that list too,
3/24/73 in good ole Municipal Auditorium.

Man, and just looking at all those tour dates,
world wide, for years in a row. Humble Pie were some touring maniacs!

Oasis 7th of august (me Little brother's birthday) 3 Days Before Knebworth in 1996. M E N T A L

It was like seeing Vlad Tepes commanding the masses with Guinness and Rock n Roll. Along with Stones at The Cirkus 2003 still the best show I ever saw.
