Bit stupid saying you'd "like to see" acts that no longer exist or artists who are dead ....wtf?

For me - Lucinda Williams. Apart from her, I've seen pretty much of all of those of my favourite acts who are still active.

Brian Wilson would be another.

CHUCK BERRY

He plays every month in St. Louis. I understand he isn't very good - but he's Chuck damn it!

Dry your eyes, dude

Actually YOUR original post was one of the more sensible ones as at least you differentiated between current acts and bands you'd liked to have seen...

But feel free to request my permission next time if you must!

Mandu, I did see the Red Hot Chili Peppers in Charleston, backed up by Stone Temple Pilots. Helluva show, but the acoustics were so bad my wife and I left before it was over. The Charleston Civic Center is no place for a rock show. It was designed for sporting events.

hey sdstonesguy, I danced with Chuck on Stage too. He invites a bunch of the audience up on stage for the finale.

BTW, "R" wrote: "He plays every month in St. Louis. I understand he isn't very good - but he's Chuck damn it!"

HE IS VERY GOOD, has as much energy as the STONES too. I've seen him often, I don't know how the man does it. Fantastic!

And Gazza, I beg to differ on my post, I'm not wishing on dead Rock Stars. Remember, "no one really knows for sure" what happened to Jim Morrison, as no one but his girlfriend, Pamela, was said to have seen him dead. And if anyone could fake their death, it would be JIM MORRISON. winking smiley I miss him....sad smiley

The fist time I saw the Crowes the sound was aweful.
But the second time, the tour for 'Lions', they were supurb.
Not too lengthy solos. They were in the groove.

The Strokes performed their first album plus two new songs, and that was it. I saw them when they first came to belgium. It was in the early stages of their career. It was rocking. Good live band.

Of those "a must catch once in a life time despite the fact that it most probably musically sucks" I think Chuck Berry is the most important - for many, mostly historical reasons.

Of the ones with possible pleasent musical content I would say Tom Waits. And Prince, too.

Demon - I can dig it...but he did not do that when I saw him. He asked for a couple to his left & a couple to his right...I grabbed the closest female & jumped on stage. She & I danced right next to & with him for about a third of the concert...was HOT HOT HOT. We four fans were the only ones on stage.
