DAMN IT!!!!! No Denmark this time either. Hm.
On another note: Solomon Burke is to play 3 concerts in Denmark. I'd love to see one of them at least. Anyone seen him yet? Is he good when live???

I am trying to get to the Helsinki gig. Bo kicks ass. He is the second greatest rock guy who came out of the 50's, next to Chuck Berry naturally. Bo had a hugh impact on the early Stones sound. Can't miss this onesmiling smiley Hey Bo Diddle hey Bo Diddley

I saw him in Dallas about 17 years ago. Tiny club. Walk in and there he was playing pinball. His opening act AND back-up band was Edie Brickell & The New Bohemians. 100 people in the joint.

Her band was great but Edie took the the concept of "emote" well beyond what was neccessary. She WAS young though.

He was in Alton, IL at the Alton Belle Casino in January, 20 miles from me. I'm lucky as Johnnie, and Chuck Berry play around here all the time:
(I learned to jitterbug to Chuck Berry and Little Richard music.)

Bo was with With Johnnie Johnson recently.

Incidentally, although it certainly features a Diddley-esque riff, Not Fade Away is a Buddy Holly-penned tune....just to be a little anal-retentive, here.

Buddy Holly stole the sound from Bo Diddley. Or took the inspiration. Whatever you call it. If you attend a Bo Diddley show you will see where Not Fade Away is coming from, initially. Elvis, The Stones, Buddy Holly, and many more, I guess it's the same old story. "White" performers making money from music and roots coming from the "colored" background.

Sorry, Vik, we don't use the word "colored" anymore, it's an insult, as we are all, different "colors."

I saw him a few years ago here in the south of Holland. He's was a great, actually. He threw some Gunslinger plectrums into the audience. After the show we had the oppertunity to get backstage. He signed my Live at the Ritz album and we went on the photo together. He said "oh good old Ronnie, Long time no see". It was a great expercience to meet a living legend. Now I framed my photo's with the concert ticket, the plectrum and a signed cd booklet. I only hope to meet Ronnie soon to make it complete.
