i love this track!!---back when the the band used to take chances and actually record something different than the usual RNR....---excellent groove and semi-creepy lyrics too...a highlight of a great and hugely under-rated lp that is my favorite of all their albums (yes that includes exile)...and the extended 12" mix is cool too!!

Yeah love it.... especially the 12" version.......ROCKMAN

When I travel coast to coast
You're the hook up I miss the most
In the motel you're the ghost
Other women don't come close

From the first time such a crush
Such excitement, such a rush
In the kitchen, in the car
In the ditch, on the dirty floor

Wanderlust and love disease
Taken over and strangled me
Cure my body, make me whole
Feed my body, feed my soul

I really liked it from the first spin I gave it. That was 1983 and I really was not into reggae at that time (now I am). The drum sound is a bit too "dubby" though.

Yes, the 12" mix is one of the best things they did in the eighties. "Too dubby"? I think the problem with the album track is that it's not dubby enough.

My old car stereo speakers were knackered and when I played FOB there was a great fuzzy buzzy bass sound that will, now, sadly never be heard again.

This song is ok. The drums sound a bit out dated these days.

I made a copy of Undercover (the album) for a friend recently and he played it a few times and said he thought the album was horrible besides the first few songs.

Great song. I like the way Mick and Keith's vocal sneak around towards the end of the song. Great mix!

I love FEEL ON BABY. For those who haven't heard the "12-inch single" extended version (6.5 minutes), that I also like, listen here

I don´t! I wouldn´t even call it a song, it´s a long pointless jam (with a horrible 80`s synthesized drumsound). Stones never really got away with reggae (like most other white english rockbands).

The Clash I'll give you, but 'most others'? Which ones do you have in mind?

The Stones have forgotten more about reggae than most of those bands will ever know.

Well, I was just stating my personal opinion (and a quote i heard from Johnny Rotten once...). Maybe there are many good white english rockbands who does reggae well, but they have all escaped me (except The Clash [more "ska" though] then). I remember UB 40 though, but they weren´t a rockband to start with (as far as I know).

UB40 were hardly a 'white' band, though. Some of them were black. I'd have thought the Police would have been the most obvious one, but their form of reggae was pretty watered down.

There were quite a few English bands from that era who played ska, it was a big deal at the time. Most of them were mixed-race however (the Specials, The Beat, Selecter etc)

The Clash absolutely 'got' reggae, though. No question. Especially Topper.

The Police, off course! Pretty soon I´ll be listing fifty good "white" english reggaebands... . But then again if I really wanna listen to reggae I´ll put on a Bob Marley or Jimmy Cliff record.

Excellent extended version. Should have had this on the original album. This is no pointless Jam...in the context of the times this was near-brilliant. Remember that this was the era where the "Sly and Robbie" sound was very 'in' and Grace Jones was making a career from this sound on albums like Nightclubbing.

I think it still sounds very interesting and edgy. Wish the Stones would still challenge themselves and push boundaries like this...
