I love Dwight. He is absolutely the best...but he lost badass status when Pete Anderson left.

i meant just in general. very few old school country stars left. dwight, hank jr, george jones (who is retiring this year), willie nelson, dolly parton, loretta lynn, kenny rogers, kris kristofferson, george strait, maybe a few others but thats about it

edit: damn left merle haggard off the list

You would love Dale Watson...he's pretty sure CMA stands for Country My Ass.

Not too much. "Blame The Vain" is a decent song and I like "When I First Came Here"...very Elvis 70's...I don't listen to much else on there...

The Last Time sounds very line-dancey here.

I agree. I was listening to it today. I like those two songs and She'll Remember and Intentional Heartache. 3 Pears blows it out of the water.

Great CD. He used to break his show down and do 1 or 2 songs without the band. This CD is his representation of those songs. Very mellow though so don't listen to it all the way through...

Dwight is the man. I've seen him 3 times and am going in 15 days to see him here in Austin for my 4th time. Though 3 Pears is a good record I think his previous 2 CDs (Blame The Vain & Population Me) were much better. I used to think that losing Pete Anderson was a major setback but I gotta tell ya, that the new guy has gotten a Helluva lot better over the last couple of years and now you really can't tell the difference in the live shows. Dwight is the best value you can find for a live show AND he usually plays smaller, more intimate venues which is a real plus and his ticket prices remain very affordable. Anyone who sees him usually becomes a convert. No one, except maybe Dale Watson, plays that classic country rock like Dwight. Rock on fellow IOOR Dwight Yoakam fans smiling smiley

Long Live Dale...

I just can't get behind the new Dwight guitar man...Pete's production is missed as well.

I've seen Dwight in concert without Pete; he's got a pretty solid crew playing with him, so I didnt' miss Pete.

On the subject of 3 Pears - for some reason I just can't get into it. I've tried, but there's nothing there to grab me. I love all Dwight's stuff from the 90's though.

For me Nothing But Love is the standout cut on 3 Pears. Three Pairs Of Glasses is pretty good too.

Going to see him at the Beale St. Music Fest in Memphis in May.

Seem him on the This Time tour, excellent. Love the Gone album.
