If you survive your 27th year most of the singers is on top as rock-singers just that year...Mick made no studioalbum that year...typical....cool smiley

Yeah, gotta say the singing (and playing) on that old favorite - Side 2 of Tattoo You - is pretty damn good.

Rocks Off vocals blow me away. Every time I hear that song, I get goosebumps. On the other hand, when I listen to the Live Licks version, I want to vomit.

Beggar's Banquet to Sticky Fingers. On BB, that's when his voice really began to soar with emotion, as opposed to just singing catchy pop hooks in the mid-60s.

All I can say is just listen to " The Very Best of Mick Jagger"....all of those songs that many folks forget about are here including " Evening Gown" ( Country) " Old Habits Die Hard" for ballad, " Joy" for contemporary, & " Sweet Thing" for funk.
I won't pull exclusively from his solo cd because I also love " Let It Loose " and " Wild Horses" as favorite ballads, and Dance Part 1 obviously for dance track, and " You Got The Silver" for country,& too many to name for blues!! Good thread!
