Oh yes! Great band - one of my favourite bands of all time. Astbury has made a solo album now, and is finished (I think) touring with The Doors, but he has stated that it is possible that The Cult will record a new album in the future.

When it comes to bands with similar styles, I can't think of any group (meaning the characteristic style before the "heavy albums").

Great band, but I wouldn't say they are (or ever were) popular here in Italy.
Unfortunately no replacements either.

They were very popular in the late 80s early 90s over here in Germany. Now nobody gives a shit about The Cult.

They had a big US tour in 2000/2001.

Off to see the Doors 21C in a few weeks.
Still can't get my head around why Astbury took this gig when he has his own successful band.
Not that I'm complaining.

Have you ever lent somebody $20 and never seen them again? It was probably worth it.

The Cult really haven't been popular in England since the mid/late eighties. They may have had some minor success since but nothing to really speak about.

He still has The Cult, but he has stated that he couldn't say no when his heroes asked him.
