That's a great deal for such a set. I'm ordering one. Does it seem that all CD box sets go down in price after a few months?

When they met, Elvis didn't even know who Clapton was. When he found out he played guitar, Elvis suggested that Clapton get some tips from James Burton....

Typical....you once again mistake Burton for Brown.
You are so not working class...

nice pic...if you could scan lower, you'd see james was a foot or so off the ground in order to maintain eye contact with the king. hence the "jumpin'" james burton moniker.

ya know...this was an "ok" album when it came out, but nothing all that special...certainly nothing that warrants any type of special re-release...

Clapton was in some kind of easy- listening mode...nothing wrong with that but nothing special about it either..........
maybe we're getting a little too hung up on the release dates of certain albums...................?

Yup right you are T & A, it was JJ Cale all the way on Slowhand. Nice groove guitar picking. Great album.

ec haters are almost as despicable as bruce worshippers. very stupid ppl with low self-esteem issues and whose children typically are bratty and ugly.

ec probably never made a great album - but slowhand and ocean blvd probably are his most consisently rewarding records. as a result, both got the "treatment"

I think the problem is what you have here, is two EC's.

The EC of Layla fame and the EC of Layla from MTV unplugged.

I love EC of Layla. Unplugged not so much.

My children are beautiful btw, but pretty bratty so you may be on to something.

I didn't initially like Clapton after 461 Ocean Blvd., but those albums have aged well. 461 and Slowhand are the best, but "minor" efforts like No Reason to Cry and Backless sound great on a Sunday morning - warm and comfortable. Nothing wrong with that.

So how does the remastered Slowhand sound?

Just played my old vinyl copy. Great sound. And the remastered CD/Vinyl? Any better? Brickwalled?

Agree with both of you. Take a listen to "Floating Bridge","Black Rose" or "Blow Wind Blow" all great stuff off of Another Ticket. Such an inspiration - thanks for mentioning it! I'm gonna go get the CD right now and play it. It's been out of rotation way too long at my house.

If I mention Live Alive would you consider listening to it over this Another Ticket LP business?
