No interest at all, the only sport I watch is golf go figure.

My interest in the Superbowl is similar to that which I've had in the past in rugby
I only ever tuned into the Superbowl when the Stones were playing and I only ever went once to Cardiff Arms park (one of the most famous rugby grounds that's ever been) once as well, when the Stones played there in 1990. Although I can't stand either, I've got to say rugby does have the edge in my estimation because at least the blokes that play that don't wear all that babygrow armour and helmets and all....................

A vehement "No!", said the vexed foreigner. It's just not cricket.

I follow music like others follow sports and I really just don't care about the Superbowl. Instead, I'll put on some music, maybe play some Halo 4, something, anything except watch the game. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy football and my dad is a baseball historian so I have a great love of the MLB, but I really just don't care.

Curious if there is anyone else out there in the same boat.

Personally, I don't really understand how English football manages to be of the slightest interest to anyone at all, and I don't understand how American football even works, so whether it's the "cup final" in the UK or the "Superbowl" in the U.S. - it's all a bit meaningless to me. So you're not alone.

As a footnote, the ONLY time I'm interested in football is once every four years when the world cup comes around, and my enjoyment of that competition stems mainly from seeing (as one does on occasions) some little upstart nation that barely even has a national team or league thrash one of the established "giants" of the game. I just laugh, listening to the panel of experts commentating on the game, discussing this cataclysmic event - as if it's something of earth shaking world changing importance ? Idiots .... it's a f***ing game, nothing more and nothing less. And some you win & some you lose, that's all there is to it !

Vote for the underdog, that's what I say .....

[ I want to shout, but I can hardly speak ]

I don't care at all, as I don't consider it a proper sport. Why on earth does anyone want to play rugby fully protected, let alone look at men in tights fully protected? It's a joke.

Here's some real men playing real rugby:

I undestand the big fuzz about that in the US perhaps also Canada. But why do that game is on all the sports headlines in Europe I just don't get it.
The only time I watched the break was for the Stones. Most Sport in the US is like a slotmachine with billiondollar money.

Brilliant.

Now that is one tough sport.

Brutal.

Football (soccer) is obviously tougher... honest... it must be... the players stay down longer and all that pain...

The whole game of football is too scripted, including all the fuzz around it. It was a relief to see everyone not knowing what to do or say during the power outage. The highlight of the game, so to speak.

I'm afraid almost all big sports are corrupted by capitalism these days. How many of those well padded gentlemen on the pitch do you think were clean from doping yesterday, for instance? Do they even test them?

Yes.

The English Football 1st Division in 1981, final positions:

Aston Villa
Ipswich Town
Arsenal
West Bromwich Albion
Liverpool
Southampton
Nottingham Forest

Manchester United
Leeds United
Tottenham Hotspur
Stoke City
Manchester City
Birmingham City
Middlesbrough

Everton
Coventry City
Sunderland
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Brighton & Hove Albion

Norwich City
Leicester City
Crystal Palace

It was more fun, small teams had more chance.

Sadly those days are gone.

It's pretty much crap these days.

Mathijs, you think American football players are not real men (I doubt you or me would last 10 minutes on the field)? The idea of the game is not to see how much blood you can draw from your opponent. Yeah rugby looks cool, but I wonder how many of these guys make it to a 2nd or 3rd season? And my friend, it's no joke!

Why is it called football if you play mainly with your hands?
Football is what we play in South America and the rest of the world but we really plat with our feet.....

By the way, what does soccer means?

With that logic, shouldn't the name of the game really be "Parallel Striped Egg Ball"?

'Soccer' comes from the term 'Association Football'.
