Poor... again.
Looking through my Prince cd's I just realised that his last great album was The Gold Experience... 1995.

There were some great songs along the way, but man has he lost it...

Sounds like a recent song where the Stones went ZZ Top, but the Prince one has an actual solo.

That was terrible, completely phoned in. Awful.

Well it sure doesn't do it for me on first listen and my kid just told me to turn it off and play something better. I'll give it another try later.

and while we're on the topic, how did he manage to sell out 21 nights at the
London 02 in 2007 ??? He sold almost as many tickets in one town a few years
ago as he can now get to watch him for free on youtube in over two months ???

an incredible change in demand, i think, for an artist that does not seem to
have lost a step.

makes me wonder just how much the demand for the Stones has changed over the same
time period

He sold out 21 nights that time because the ticket price was under £35, other than the usual VIP package stuff. Loads of people who wouldn't usually bother went there such as myself though I walked out after 45 minutes since it wasn't even worth 35p.

This is great. Why would anyone comment "childish lyrics"? R&R is childish.
Love his new style of overloading that bottom end; distorting the kick and bass. sounds great, looks great. Both songs; also the one superrevvy posted.
I like this re-invention way more than when he insisted on rapping or going Jazz, LOL

Nice! How people come up with the idea of Prince copying/commenting on Doom & Gloom is beyond me. Prince had made similar songs long before D&G. For example: he used the same, straighforward groove in Cinnamon Girl in the early 00's.

Cinnamon girl is Neil Young -70 with specialtuned guitar...

This is not bad...this coming from someone who pretty gave up on Prince after that double album from 1988 whose name escapes me right now. A lot better than that synth thing from last November too!
