Mick Jagger has confirmed that The Rolling Stones are likely to play more live shows in 2013, with the frontman dropping hints about a slot at Glastonbury Festival.

Mick Jagger teases Glastonbury slot: 'Is it going to rain on the Sunday?'

Speaking to NME, Jagger revealed that the band were likely to add to their 2012 New York, New Jersey and London gigs later this year, saying that there are lots of offers and opportunities available should he and his bandmates, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts, wish to take them. Asked about the Stones' plans for the next 12 months, Jagger said: "Well, I'm just looking at what offers are coming in for this year and sorting them out. I hate announcing things when they're not booked. People are always like, 'Yakety yak, you didn't do that in the end', and I say, 'Well, yeah, we never really announced it!'"

He later added: "All I'm doing at the moment is sifting through the possibilities, looking at the dates and how each one can fit in and so on. And then we'll see what we can come out with." Asked if one of those possibilities was playing Glastonbury, Jagger said:

Thanks, but what's all this "Mick talking to NME" stuff, it seems like every new week brings more zero new info...is it Mick calling them up, his publicist, some dude at NME (Is Nick Kent working there again?) who's got Mick on speed dial? Didn't know they were so chummy, rather odd!

Rolling Stones “seriously considering” £1m offer to headline Glastonbury

Seriously ? Come On. It's only 1 million.

I don't think the Stones will play for less than 5 million.
Arena: 20,000 * 250
Stadium: 50,000 * 100
Private: 1 * 5,000,000

It's just their market price.

With the 2013 Brit Awards only a few weeks away, the ultimate star-studded music bash is shaping up to be one of the biggest and best on record.

In addition to live performances from Muse, Robbie Williams, Mumford & Sons and One Direction, veteran rockers The Rolling Stones look set to raise The O2's roof with a live medley of hits.

Nominated for Best British Live Act following their 50th Anniversary concerts in November last year, Mick, Keith, Ronnie and Charlie are to bring the night's celebrations to a sensational finish on 20th February.

Keith Richards said: “Onstage is where we belong. When I’m up there with Mick, Charlie and Ronnie, everything is rocking, so a big thanks to Brit fans and the Brits nom!”

Mick Jagger added: “We all had such a blast. Everyone was at the top of their game and the hometown audiences at The O2 were just fantastic. It’s great to be nominated... we’ll see you soon.”

Stereoboard believes the band could announce their BRIT performance tonight, so be sure to check back or head to www.brits.co.uk for further details.

The latest rumours surrounding the Stones is that, following their mini BRIT gig, the band are to announce a UK stadium tour with tickets going on sale either Friday 22nd February or Friday 1st March. In addition, the Stones are also rumoured to reveal details of a Sunday night headline performance at Glastonbury Festival and an appearance at London's Hard Rock Calling this summer.

Mick told NME: “There are other things in the world, you know, apart from Glastonbury! But then again, Glastonbury is very important. It seems to be very important to my children – highlight of their year!”

The frontman also dropped perhaps one of the biggest Glasto hints yet, adding: "But is it going to be rainy on the Sunday? Isn't it nearly always rainy on the Sunday?"

Nothing has been confirmed by the band yet and speculation over whether or not the band will perform at this year's Glastonbury has been ongoing for months. Check back to Stereoboard for further updates on The Rolling Stones.

....and, another rumor !

The Rolling Stones to play MGM Grand Garden Arena twice this summer?

Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 | 10:42 a.m.
Wicked Whispers & Racy Rumors this Thursday morning! It is a solid rumor, but neither MGM Grand nor The Rolling Stones has confirmed it yet.

High-level secret word slipped out this morning that the world’s greatest rock and roll band will play MGM Grand Garden Arena this summer -- not once but twice.

June 7 and 14 have been tentatively penciled on the calendar. I can’t get any reaction from my MGM contacts, though, just yet. After the Stones’ 50th anniversary concert celebrations ended in New York in December, first rumblings began about a full-blown 2013 tour.

This month, the Stones semi-confirmed that they’d hit the road again but denied any plans to play Coachella as a kickoff.

A few days later, frontman Mick Jagger said that he would meet with the band members to discuss what they wanted to do. He confirmed that there had been several offers for a tour, adding that we would have to wait for an official announcement about dates and venues.

As of this morning, The Rolling Stones have not confirmed any schedule for a 2013 tour, but my source is highly reliable and trustworthy.

Vegas and The Stones are becoming synonymous...

Still, The Eagles did well there over the New Year Holiday.
They aren't Vegas at all.

The MGM is the type of venue they seem to want. Tickets will be very expensive - in 2006, I had tickets for the show at the MGM, but couldn't go. I put them on Ebay just hoping to get my money back ($400 each, after all), and they sold for $2000 for the pair. They weren't great seats either, although they were in the first tier stands.

I hope they play Hard Rock Calling (which will be at the Olympic Park rather than Hyde Park). That would give more people a chance to see them at reasonable prices.

Glastonbury is on top of any band's list of where to play if they could. Including the Stones, as long as it fits into their schedule.

Glastonbury would be a step up from the Isle of Wight a few years ago...and give them a lot more exposure.
I've been to Glastonbury about 15 times, but I'm a bit too old for that now, I think....happy enough to watch it on TV. Especially if it's raining like when the Who played there a few years back.

I suddenly wondered if I had coined a phrase...

No such luck. It's been around since at least March 9, 2006 in a blog post by
one Walter Amerika. It has since been used by MSNBC among others.

A UK stadium tour? That sounds a bit underwhelming? How long has it been since they did a UK Tour ?! Did they mean a European tour?

consider becoming a phish fan. they have a limited time offer for new fans. they rock. they're old, but can still play. and they can play the stones better than the stones can play the stones.

something to consider as you examine your choices.

During one of the pre-shows before the PPV I noticed that on several occasions the
words, The Rolling Stones, "greatest rock 'n roll band of all time" appeared
on the screen. That was a departure from the standard, "greatest rock 'n roll band
in the world".

If true, JumpinJack, that's amazing. That would be Jagger admitting/advertising
that they were no longer the best at this point in time. Now they're just
the best that ever was.

Truth in advertising, whattaya know...

Honestly, Jagger's kid's band rocks harder at this point

The Stones have now joined the Eagles and Temptations etc as strictly a heritage
act. Casinos are the best place for them.

whoops, contrary to what i read somewhere, apparently that's not Turbogeist.

its "Get it wrong" by Disco Mojo Club

kind of embarrassing i think that the ad shows James's band playing but the
music is by somebody else.

my first thought was, wow, turbogeist has improved. lol

Mick is just to humble to ever make such a claim. He blushed when Sam Cutler challenged them, and I suppose he was blushing again when stonescrow, mighty, and the watchman challenged them right here on this board. No doubt it was the PPV promoters that picked it up right here at IORR and ran with it. I don't blame them, if the shoe fits, wear it. Or something like that. They are certainly one of the greatest in the world today, and are arguably the greatest of all time. Privately, I am sure that Mick is beaming with pride that he is the frontman of what many consider to be the greatest rock 'n roll band of all time, but he will never admit to having anything to do with either one of those titles. It's just not proper for an old English gentlemen to toot his own horn.

I'm pretty sure they're going to tour, I just hope they don't tour this summer, cause I won't be home, and I hope they're going to come o'er here in Paris... The sailors they're so charming down in Paris ! I'd like their next tour to be a 'Fruit of the Loom' tour, I'd be very enjoyable to see them in a small theatre, but anyway, seeing them is alright enough to me !
Sounds like we're all waiting on friends...
