Great James Brown parody. If you don't watch the whole thing, watch the part starting at 3:00 - 3:10, where the guy comes out with the cape to take Al off stage and he launches him into the air. Still cracks me up after 27 years.

I was playing at a club in L.A. (Madame Wongs. Anyone remember that?) and the video came on with the big "Premier"on the screen. People slowly gravitated towards it.

Funny you mention Flashdance. I remember when I first saw it. A first-date movie (not my very first date but...well, you know). She asked the inevitable question: "Well, what'd you think?" I said, "I didn't like it." She said, "Really? I loved it." Well, that was the end of that one.

Thanks Tomk - Only recall seeing The Stroke video here. And the impact of MTV on music film clips was huge - & often unintentionally hilarious. Should also mention Total Eclipse Of The Heart (Bonnie Tyler) & White snake's 'Here I Go Again'

I saw it as a 12 year old with ummmm.........my father! Neither of us were that impressed - luckily the tickets were half-price!

Funniest music vid is definitely Herbie Hancock's Rockit: the reason is because of something pertinent to my school days.

When I was at secondary school, in the early to mid 80s, there was this rather chubby kid who thought he could break-dance. He also thought he was hip, by adopting the speaking terms of a hip-hop dude. Anyway, after seeing Rockit, he decided to give us all a demonstration of his break-dancing skills, only to wound himself with the school furniture in the way. When the teachers saw his break-dancing skills, they laughingly asked what he thought he was doing, and he said, in his defence "Id wasun't me thirrr".

On a modern-day note: I happen to like Herbie Hancock's music, be it electronic or acoustic jazz, but Future Shock, the album with Rockit on, is something I listen to, laughing still at this memory.

I don't know if you're asking for intentionally funny, or just funny. This one here I have posted once years ago because it is just so gone wrong.

Oh yeah, we played there a coupla times too. I remember it being called Madame Wong's West. Not sure if there was an East. It was one of the 3 or 4 great venues for up and comers in LA back in the day. What happened to the place? peace

I love the Foo Fighters "Big Me" video. The one that's a take on the Mentos commercials. I love them walking down the street in the jogging outfits. so funny.

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.
