His name is Richard 'Didymus' Washington. He was 'not amused' when he saw the credits on Exile on Main St. !

He was the percussionist of Dr. John, and part of this group of session musicians like Bobby Keys, Al Cooper, Jim Price, George Harrison, Delaney & Bonnie, Eric Clapton (as Derek), Joe Cocker (Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour).

Nice to know, but it doesn't matter.
That was 1972, and the guy playing Marimbas hasn't done anything that matters since
then, has he? A topic like Mick Taylor being mixed down so low you (almost) cannot hear him on many EOMS songs is a bit more to the point of ancient history.
And please oh please don't bring up Wonnie Woodie. Geez.
