Re: What would have happened with Ron Wood if Mick taylor had not left the Stones?

He was so highly regarded among musicians at the time - after Faces and his first couple of solo albums, that he could have played with whomever he'd like to join.

Probably in a "super group" or something...

>then in the early 60s he thought the same again and THEN he apparently walked about hide park in 69 "wondering how he >can join this band "!

I still wonder how he managed to wander around Hyde Park and playing in New York City on the same day.

If Mick Taylor hadn't left the Stones, Ron Wood could have been a mainstay in Bob Dylan's touring band. Then, instead of complaining about how his leads aren't as good as Taylor's, we'd complain about his leads not being as good as Robbie Robertson's.

What would have happened is that the Stones, if Mick Taylor stayed, for a brief period, would have continued in a jazz-fusion Time Waits For No-One direction, or they might have even gone Prog. Certainly, the album Some Girls would have been totally different if Mick Taylor was still there.

What would Ron Wood have done ? It's open to conjecture, but he would have released more collaborations with Bobby Womack, as in Now Look. He might even, at some stage, reunited with Rod Stewart.

He would have stayed with Rod and would be claming up Xmas carols and stale standards while playing a giant jazz box..

What would have happened if the meteor hadn't hit the earth at Chicxulub 65 million
years ago?

Just as long as the guitar plays, let it steal your heart away

He continued to be a friend of Keith, he could have drank with him and maybe death ... Or he could play with Barbarians ... And it could still be the guitarist Rod Steward. What gag!

Well,
to answer the original question, the way it was posed...

Ron Wood would have reunited/joined The Beatles and we all would be on the Beatles message board since IORR would never have been created.

Paul, Ringo, and Ron would still be touring.
We would be bitching about the warhorse-filled Beatles setlists and the exorbitant ticket prices, especially when you compare them to Mick Jagger's solo concert pricing structure.

God Bless Ron Wood.

If Mick Taylor had not left the Stones then Keith would have died in 79. Ron would have been selected to replace Keith.

so it would be woody just being happy to be anywhere now? and taylor would be the guy dating and marrying anyone who winked at him?

Very funny!

Neither of those things would of happened. There is no Rolling Stones without Keith and certainly not live. Keith is the timing, not Charlie, the drums follow the guitar. Something that only Charlie and Keith can do from years of playing together.
