Re: If the Stones tour next year-indoor arenas or outdoor stadiums

Both.

The number of markets able to sustain more than one Stones show at the sky high prices of the recent gigs is very small.

If theyre expecting to continue to get over $6 million per show, there'll be very few local promoters willing to take a chance on arena shows - they'll be obliged to go for stadiums. Same thing happened on the last tour - the % of stadium shows was far higher than what was originally planned.

They will play stadiums if the promotors offer more money to play stadiums. Period.

Please, no more stadium shows.

I bet they go to China... there is more money there than sense, and it seems they are attracting a lot of groups and paying big bucks to do it and I think the Stones willingness to censor out certain songs (like they did last time) will help the cause.

There is plenty of money in China and Brazil too.

Yes, the sacred period, by all means.

i think demand for any type of show will be inherent as long as they do not saturate the market ... i really liked the licks tour formats with three shows, stadiums, arenas, and clubs.

to help the hardships of travels, cold/bad weather, etc., perhaps limit stadiums to the summer months and even the tour itself. they can get a lot accomplished during april - october.

further, stick to a city for a period of time as well. play a couple of each type of show in LA, NY, Chicago, London, Paris, Sydney, etc, etc. - 2 arenas, 2 stadiums, and 2 clubs. and then move on to the next city.

also, keep the toned down show format!

Most of the major european cities and a few strategic sites in the US have fully covered 60,000 seat + Stadiums.

Think

Dallas,New Orleans, Stade De France, Millenium in Wales, Wembley, Etihad in Melbourne all indoor gigs.....

Plus more than a few have all covered seating and signifigant pitch coverage.

This would allow them to set up shop and you come to them for a change...

Chuck in a few Arena night's in smaller markets, such as Belgium, Holland etc.

Yep i'd say the outdoor, exposed to the weather ala Western Springs or Zilker Park are off the agenda...
