I love when caring fans interpretating something that isn't there.

Haven't heard "night 2" version, how was it different? You think he toned it down some at their request to not outshine the rest of the show??

I think it was just a case of excitement and nerves on the first night.

Both performances at O2 seemed good to me but I can see how the boys may have thought he was over the top. Anyone who's familiar with them knows everyone associated is on thin ice. One thing I came away with was how much I've enjoyed Woody during his Stones tenure. The greatest recording may have been made with Taylor but Woody does a great job on all three eras of the band. Best evidence as who belongs in The Rolling Stones was Brooklyn's Midnight Rambler crushing the O2 versions...
I agree with every point made in both of these posts, particularly feeling bad for MTQuote

very interesting... Maybe the two guitars? Actually I think it was the Stons that blew it, they should've had a mini section of 3 or 4 tunes with all surviving Stones...
I really feel sorry for Mick Taylor.

Stones never got over the fact he quit, this was their way of firing him I suppose. I was surprised at the tune they chose especially when they're playing All Down The Line his slide standout. Do I feel sorry for him, nah, even after all these years how do you quit the greatest rock and roll band in the world?
